Since Apple has offered many of its iOS and macOS apps for free in recent years to those who purchase a new iPhone or Mac, iMovie, Numbers, Keynote, Pages, and GarageBand already have many users. Now, however, the Californian company has decided to start offering all the mentioned applications completely free of charge.

Anyone who, despite purchasing new machines since 2013, has not downloaded one of the applications, now has the opportunity to do so completely free of charge, on any device.

The entire iWork office suite, which includes Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for both macOS and iOS, is free, and is a direct competitor to Microsoft's Office suite, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Mobile versions cost 10 euros each, desktop versions were 20 euros each.

For Macs and iPhones or iPads, iMovie for video editing and GarageBand for working with music can also be downloaded for free. On iOS both applications cost 5 euros, on Mac GarageBand also 5 euros and iMovie 15 euros.

You can download all apps in the respective App Stores:

Apple makes its move comments by, among other things, now making it easier for businesses and schools to purchase all of the aforementioned apps within VPP program and then distribute them via MDM.
