Apple last week at the end of its developer conference WWDC announced the winners of its Apple Design Awards. Among the winning applications was also By Me Eyes, which we will discuss in this article.

The Be My Eyes application serves to connect visually impaired users and volunteers from all over the world who have decided to make life easier for these users. Volunteers who log in to the application can help visually impaired users with reading various inscriptions, dates and data, but also advise on the correct setting of household appliances, the selection of goods in shops or orientation in unknown places - the possibilities in this direction are truly endless . The application is completely free, its creators run it completely selflessly for understandable reasons. Be My Eyes can be used by disabled people and volunteers from all over the world.

Using the app is understandably different depending on whether you sign up as a disabled person or as a volunteer. We tried the volunteer version. Be My Eyes requires registration and also supports Sign in with Apple. Assistance also takes place via audio and video calls, so it is necessary to allow the application access to the camera and microphone. In the application settings, you can change the main language in which you want to help others. During the testing of the application, we did not receive any real request for help from another user, but Be My Eyes offers the opportunity to test the call in the dark. The notification about the call will appear as a notification on your iPhone, and mirroring on the Apple Watch will also occur. A call can be answered with a simple tap. Be My Eyes is a simple, clear, and above all very useful application.
