About four months ago, we informed you about the download of a very popular photography application Camera + for iPhone from developers tap tap tap from the App Store (article here). Since then, almost all fans have been impatiently waiting for information about what will happen next with the excellent application.

There was no information from the developers, so the situation gave the impression that perhaps no customer will ever officially buy Camera+. I was among those who were very interested in the application. That's why I kept checking developer twitter, App Store and other foreign articles. However, there was no mention anywhere.

The informational silence lasted until Tuesday morning. Camera+ has reappeared in the App Store – with updated features. The total list of new features is incredibly long, counting more than 50 changes. The most important changes in version 2.0 include:

  • speeding up the whole application, which now starts really fast,
  • adding geolocation and metadata when saving photos to the camera roll,
  • displaying information about the captured image,
  • modifying the entire user interface to make it more intuitive,
  • removal of the "SLR" screen (camera viewfinder) to improve orientation,
  • improving focus,
  • the ability to flip and rotate images,
  • improving most effects,
  • adding dozens of new effects and filters,
  • option to set boundaries,
  • a new panel allowing you to select one of the new options when taking photos (timer, taking multiple photos at once, stabilizer),
  • sliders for setting the intensity of the selected effect,
  • adding the option to buy a new pack of analog filters directly in the app for €0,79.

As you can see thanks to the list, the developers of the app were certainly not idle during the time when Camera+ was removed from the App Store. They've also managed to create top-notch photography software that, in my opinion, has no competition on the iPhone. At the same time, with version 2.0, they completely surprised the majority of potential customers, who can now purchase this application almost under the tree. Among other things, well-known professional photographer Lisa Bettany is involved in the development, thanks to which you can use most of the filters. Lisa Cameru+ uses really often during her travels, the results of photography adds to his blog, where you can see what can be done with this application.

The advantage is also that it is very easy to use, you only need to take a picture of an object of your interest and then the photo is transferred to the so-called light box, where you can play with the image as you wish. Of course, this is not a condition, if you don't want to edit the photo, just save it to the camera roll. However, by doing this step you would be missing out on a lot of the fun and creativity involved in editing. In addition, you are almost always guaranteed a perfect result thanks to the great modification options.

I think that a user who tries the Camera+ application will not go back to the native one from Apple or to other available competitors in the App Store. It offers many more setting options. It refers to excellent focusing, where you focus on the subject with one finger and refocus with the other finger. However, this is particularly evident in the brightness and sharpness of the photos, when later possible adjustments to the images are less demanding.

So Camera+ doesn't just take pictures, it offers a wide range of usable filters including various other tools for editing and working with photos. So there is no need to have x other photography apps installed on your device. If you are satisfied with your result and want to share it with your friends, you can. The application offers sharing to social networks (flickr, facebook, twitter).

The price is also an advantage, which is currently reduced to €0,79. In my opinion, there is nothing to solve. God knows how long this one will last in the App Store before Apple realizes that some other cool Camera+ tweak violates their developer terms.
