Apple does not take the fight for the right to privacy lightly. It will now require that all applications, in addition to the standard method of logging in through third-party services, also support his so-called Sign in with Apple.

The new iOS 13 operating system introduces the so-called "Sign in with Apple" method, which is supposed to be an alternative to all established authentication services such as Google or Facebook accounts. These are often offered instead of the standard creation of a new user account for a service or application.

However, Apple is changing the existing rules of the game. Together with iOS 13, it changes as well as service authentication rules, and now all applications located in the App Store must, in addition to logging in through third-party accounts, also support a new method of logging in directly from Apple.

Sign in with Apple together with biometric data

It bets on maximum user privacy. You can thus create a new account without transferring sensitive data or significantly limit it. Unlike traditional services and accounts from other providers, "Sign in with Apple" offers authentication using Face ID and Touch ID.

In addition, Apple offers a special approach where the user does not have to provide the service with a real email address, but instead offers a masked version. Using smart internal redirection, it then delivers messages directly to the user's inbox, without revealing the real email address to the given third-party service or application.

This is not only a new way of providing personal data, but also a way to leave no traces behind when terminating or canceling an account with a given service. Apple is thus increasingly targeting privacy, which it sees as its new motto in the fight against the competition.

Beta testing starts already in the summer and will be mandatory together with the release of the sharp version of iOS 13 in the fall of this year.
