While the last calendar quarter of last year was - as far as iPhone sales are concerned - really successful for Apple, there is still a big question mark over the next period. The current COVID-19 epidemic in particular has a significant influence on the current situation. Both for shares and for production. However, many analysts remain optimistic and believe that the current situation will only be short-lived. One of the experts who holds this opinion is Dan Ives from Wedbush, who predicts a supercycle for Apple in connection with this year's iPhone models.

According to Ives, the events of the past few weeks have shaken Apple's ecosystem to some extent in terms of supply and demand. But in his own words, he believes that the current unfavorable situation will be short-lived. Ives continues to predict a supercycle for Apple over the next 12 to 18 months, driven primarily by upcoming iPhones with 5G connectivity. According to him, Apple can look forward to a "perfect storm of demand" for the new iPhones this fall, with 350 million people the potential target group for the upgrade, according to Ives. However, Ives estimates that Apple could manage to sell 200-215 million of its iPhones during the September quarter.

The vast majority of analysts agree that Apple this fall will introduce iPhones with 5G connectivity. According to experts, it is this feature that should become the main attraction of new models. Experts do not deny that the current situation (not only) is complex and demanding for Apple, but at the same time they insist on supercycle theories. According to analysts, the service sector should also have a significant share of Apple's income this year - in this context, Dan Ives predicts Apple's annual income of up to 50 billion dollars.
