There are never enough photography apps. The renowned Realmac Software studio, which comes with the Analog Camera application, probably followed such a motto. It will provide you with nothing more than taking a picture, applying the selected filter and then sharing it. However, he can do it with bravura…

Realmac Software already has several excellent applications for Mac such as: Courier, LittleSnapper or RapidWeaver, for iOS it is the well-known task manager Clear and Analog Camera follows in its footsteps. Simplicity above all and the result is again excellent.

Analog Camera serves both as a tool for taking photos and for editing them, while the photo does not have to be taken at all by this application for editing. However, if you also take photos with the Analog Camera, you can use several modes: fully automatic (double tap), manual focus (single tap), or separate focus and exposure (tap with two fingers).

However, the disadvantage may be that Analog Camera - like Instagram - only takes square pictures, i.e. in a 1:1 aspect ratio. If you don't like this setting, you can choose an already taken photo from your library or Photo Stream. Just swipe from top to bottom in photo mode. However, you will have to crop it again when editing.

Once you have an image selected, a tile will appear with a menu of filters. In the middle of the 3×3 field is an original photo, around which are eight different effects. You can click on them to see what the final product will look like, you can "scroll" between them by dragging your finger.

After choosing the effect, the procedure is already simple, you just choose one of the ways of what you want to do with the edited photo. It can be saved back to the library, sent by email or opened in another application (including Instagram). If you have your iOS device connected to the social networks Facebook and Twitter, you will also see two large buttons to share the photo right here.

Analog Camera for iPhone also has a desktop version. His name is Analog and you can find it in the Mac App Store.
