Representatives of the US administration announced today that the planned 10% tariffs on the import of electronics and other goods from China, which would affect almost the majority of Apple products on the US market, will be delayed. The original deadline of September 1 is postponed to December for some products. However, a lot can change until then, and in the final, the duties may not come at all. The stock markets reacted positively to this news, for example, Apple significantly strengthened depending on this news.

Currently, the date for the introduction of new tariffs has been moved from September 1 to December 15. This means, among other things, that the tariffs will not immediately be reflected in the sales of new products that Apple will introduce during the fall. Pre-Christmas shopping will also be largely unaffected by the tariffs, which is good news for American consumers.

The planned tariffs cover computers, electronics, laptops, phones, monitors and other goods, with the final list of products to be affected by the tariffs not yet being published. The situation has also been significantly mixed by a new report that some of them will disappear from the original list of planned products, due to reasons related to "health, safety, national security and other factors". Anyone can belong to this group, and it is clear that large companies have tried to lobby that their products fall under one of these categories. However, what exactly it will be about is not yet public information.

More detailed information on which specific products will be subject to tariffs (both those that will take effect on September 1 and those in December) will be released by the US authorities sometime in the next 24 hours. After that, more will be known. Last week, we wrote about the fact that Apple is going to cover the possible imposition of tariffs on its goods from its own funds. Thus, there will be no increase in prices on the American market in order for the company to compensate for the lost profit. During the duration of the customs duty, it will subsidize any increased prices from its own funds.
