The lawsuit between Apple and Amazon over who has the right to use the name "App Store" is over. The Cupertino company decided to end the dispute, withdraw the lawsuit, and the case was officially closed by the court in Oakland, California.

Apple sued Amazon for trademark infringement and false advertising, accusing it of using the name "AppStore" in connection with the sale of apps for Android devices and the Amazon Kindle that compete with the iPad. However, Amazon objected that the name app store has become so generalized that people do not think of Apple's App Store.
In the dispute, Apple also recorded the fact that it launched its App Store as early as July 2008, while Amazon only launched it in March 2011, when Apple also filed a lawsuit.

"We don't need to continue this dispute anymore, with 900 apps and 50 billion downloads, customers know where to find their most popular apps," said Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet.

In this turn, it is possible to see that Apple is betting on its good name and popularity among people.
