Jiří Filip The latest update of the Alza.cz shopping application brings customers an even safer picking up of orders. It allows them to open AlzaBox completely contactless via mobile phone. All you have to do is scan the QR code on the AlzaBox display.
Simple operation and the possibility of picking up an order at any time, without restrictions on opening hours, are also reasons for the increasing popularity of delivery boxes. The Alza.cz e-shop now offers another way to safely pick up your order from the box. Customers who have the Alza.cz mobile application installed on their mobile phone and are logged in can open the AlzaBox by scanning the QR code lit up on the box's screen. The code can also be scanned with the native camera from the phone's locked screen, so the entire opening process takes just a few seconds and is very easy to use.
Alza continues to maintain the possibility of collection even without a mobile phone, only by entering a numerical pin. A benefit for people who do not want to use online payment is that AlzaBoxes still have the option of paying by card on the spot when picking up the package.
"Our customers can choose not only the method of delivery and payment, but also how they open the box hiding the ordered goods. Since its launch, the new service has gained popularity. Almost every fifth shipment is already picked up in this way at a number of places," says Vladimír Dědek, director of web and mobile development at Alza.cz. "It is enough to come to the box and scan the code, there is no need to enter a numerical pin or reach for the screen. After picking up the goods, just close the open box door with your elbow. This is an almost contactless and therefore safe method of delivery," he adds.
The popularity of the mobile application is growing, it recorded more than half a million new downloads during the pandemic alone, and interest in it continues. Delivery to boxes is also becoming more and more popular, currently every third shipment from the e-shop goes to AlzaBox. Alza.cz therefore continues to expand the network of delivery boxes, customers can currently have their order delivered to one of more than 1 AlzaBoxes.
