Alza.cz presented an update of its shopping application these days. Customers now know how long the entire delivery process will take before clicking to pick up their order and can track the countdown as they progress. Thanks to this, the time spent at the branch and in queues will be reduced and the amount of goods that customers cannot take away will be reduced. With this, the company wants to contribute to even greater customer safety and the smoothness of picking up purchases.

The largest Czech e-shop is constantly working on developing its shopping app. Among other things, the order pick-up function has seen a significant improvement. Customers have used it more than twice since the beginning of the pandemic.  For example, at the main Showroom of the company, it is 117% more than before the pandemic, more than a third of orders are picked up in this way, in other branches of the sales network there was an increase in the use of the function by almost 150%.

"We are constantly working to make shopping from mobile devices as pleasant and easy as possible for our customers. Last year alone, two-thirds of customers visited our e-shop from mobile devices," said Vladimír Dědek, director of web and mobile development Alza.cz. "During the pandemic, our app saw more than half a million new downloads, and interest in it is growing this year as well. Customers appreciate the possibility of easy and quick pick-up of orders at branches," he added.

The function of picking up an order via a mobile application makes it possible to limit contact and stay in the premises of delivery points to a minimum, as well as waiting in queues. Even before the start of the delivery, the customer can see how long it will take the staff of the selected branch to prepare his order at a given moment, so he can arrive exactly on time. So, for example, if he knows that the trip will only take him five minutes and the delivery will take ten, he can start the delivery in the application before he arrives. Thanks to the interactive countdown, it is also possible to easily check how much time is left. The company wants to make it easier for customers to plan their time. The deduction together with clear instructions and all the necessary information in one place should also limit the number of orders that customers do not have time to pick up at the counters. These missed orders can lead to unwanted queues.

Alza plans to further develop this function, one of the other options should be the possibility to choose delivery of the order to a specific parking space or the possibility of easy sharing of orders for collection by another registered customer. The application is free to download in Google Play to App Store.
