The number one Czech e-commerce and leader in the sale of electronics Alza.cz announces an important change for customers and suppliers. As of July 26, 2023, Alza marketplace is changing its name to Alza Trade. The goal of this change is to better capture the specifics of this service, which include a selection of goods from more than a thousand suppliers, ease of ordering, speed of delivery and a 100% money-back guarantee.

Alza Trade is a unique form of online sales that is fundamentally different from ordinary marketplace platforms, or so-called online markets. In contrast to the Alza Trade marketplace, goods are not sold to the customer by individual sellers, but directly by the Alza company. Customers thus conclude a contract directly with Alza. It is thus responsible for the complete sales and after-sales process and is responsible for the delivery of goods and the provision of all services. In relation to Alza, individual sellers are then in the position of suppliers.

"By default, the marketplace operator is one company, but goods are sold by individual sellers who operate on this platform, issue invoices, and customers then resolve complaints with individual sellers (perhaps in a different language). As part of Alza Trade, goods are sold directly by Alza, they take responsibility for the delivery of the goods and provide after-sales services, such as the aforementioned complaints. explains Jan Pípal, director of Alza Trade Alza.cz.

Alza Trade is therefore a trade name for a service where the supplier delivers goods to Alza and subsequently, when placing an online order, the customer concludes a contract with Alza, not with the supplier. "The ability to choose goods from more than a thousand suppliers is an important part of our growing business. Last year alone, this segment grew by 56% and exceeded one billion crowns in turnover for the first time. And new suppliers are constantly being added. We emphasize the quality of suppliers and provide our customers  a wide portfolio of quality products with reliable service," adds Pípal.

Alza Trade offers customers the benefits of a simple purchase directly from Alza with a guarantee of safety and quality. Petr Bena, deputy chairman of the Alza.cz board, emphasized the goal of this change: "Our priority is to ensure that the customer experience when purchasing from more than a thousand suppliers that cooperate with us is the same as when buying goods directly from Alza, when Alza wants to bring only the best services to all its customers."

Alza thus guarantees simple cancellation of orders and settlement of complaints. The customer can follow the complaint process in real time through a user account on the Alza.cz website or in the mobile application. It is also possible to return and claim goods through AlzaBoxes, which are available in more than 1400 locations in the Czech Republic. And that's not all.

"Alza Trade also guarantees all customers a warranty on purchased products for a period of 24 months, which is the standard length of warranty for consumers in the Czech Republic. Alza also provides this guarantee to companies, even though they have no guarantee by law." says Bena, explaining: "It is important to realize that when buying on a marketplace where foreign sellers often sell, the same standards as when buying from Alza may not be observed. For example, Czech supervisory authorities, such as the Czech Trade Inspection, cannot fine the actions of foreign sellers on the marketplace. That's why customers should be careful and choose carefully who they buy from, whether because of the terms of the warranty or the simplicity of a possible claim."

Alza decided to make this name change in order to emphasize its specific approach to selling goods from its suppliers and to improve the customer experience.
