Apple picker Commercial message: There are many interesting alternatives to the iWatch on the market. They can certainly appeal to you if you are not among the strict Apple followers of the established canon and are looking for the optimal level of price and performance parameters. We therefore tested four smart watches from the Czech manufacturer Smartomat, which works with the Czech environment for its products. And that is primarily encouraging. Localization is one of the most important features that we should look for in a watch.

We received representatives of several price categories under our hands, or rather on our hands:
- from the cheaper Smartomat Roundband 2 smartwatch,
- via the mid-range Smartomat Squarz 8 Pro
- up to the most expensive and most equipped Smartomat Squarz X GPS.
#1 Quartz X GPS
It is flagship of Smartomat, which boasts the widest range of smart functions. Of those tested by us Squarz X GPS watch we must emphasize intuitive control, which you immediately identify with, and the highest resolution, thanks to which more information can fit on a single screen. You can also customize the smart watch, for example by putting your own photo on the face.
With a single wave of your finger, you can view your messages, e-mails, or calendar events. You simply reply to all messages with one of the pre-prepared templates that you can customize in the additional LinkTo Sport application (localized in Czech, of course). Despite the most diverse list of functions Squarz X GPS also has the highest battery life, they can last up to one month on a single charge, and around 5 days with intensive use.
Of course, there are also fitness functions, i.e. pedometer, distance, calculation of burned calories and measurement of sleep and heart rate. Squarz X GPS also boasts the integration of a GPS sensor, thanks to which it accurately measures the route of your walk or run, better calculates the distance, your speed and the number of calories burned. Thanks to the IP68 certification, the water element and the watch are on the same friendly wave, i.e. you can go full steam ahead with it in the pool.
#2 Smartomat Roundband 2
Smartomat Roundband 2 it is one of the cheapest smart watches on the market - an ideal start as a first experience with a smart watch when you don't know if you will enjoy this accessory at all. From our sample of tested watches, we would place this last and instead, they recommended the Squarz 8 Pro, which costs only two hundred more.
The Smartomat Roundband 2 lasts only a few days on a single charge, and even in standby mode for a maximum of two weeks. Thanks to the IP67 certification, they can survive a shower at most.
However, we have to praise them for the beautifully prepared menu, where each function has its own dedicated screen with beautiful labels and animations. There are standard functions such as notifications of incoming calls, messages and notifications of all kinds. Among the fitness functions, we can find a pedometer, measurement of distance traveled, calculation of burned calories and monitoring of sleep activity. They can also measure heart rate, blood pressure and blood oxygenation.
#3 Squarz 8 Pro
To these the Squarz 8 Pro smartwatch se managed to find the middle ground and we must praise them above all for the best price/performance ratio. Despite the lower resolution, the display can display enough information and the icons are nicely processed. Only the control is less intuitive and you need to get used to it, which will certainly not be a problem.
The Squarz 8 pro uses the LinkTo Sport application to communicate with the phone, which we already praised for the Squarz X GPS model. You can easily customize the home screen, order of functions and SMS reply templates from the app. You can also remotely launch the mobile camera and control the music player directly on the watch.
Of the fitness functions, we traditionally find a pedometer, distance measurement, the amount of calories burned and sleep activity monitoring. Among the activities here, we can also find swimming, which, together with the IP68 certification, proves that you can easily throw yourself into the pool with this watch.
Among the above-standard functions, you will find, for example, the measurement of body temperature, which can be especially useful nowadays. They can also measure blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation.
