Alongside the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch, Apple introduced the 2nd generation AirPods Pro. These new Apple headphones take the quality a few steps forward again, betting on better sound quality, a number of new features and other changes. Although the product as such has only just entered the market, it has already opened up a rather interesting discussion among Apple fans regarding the expected AirPods Max 2.

When we look at the most important news, it is quite clear that the aforementioned AirPods Max 2nd generation headphones will also see their implementation. However, the problem with them is something else. AirPods Max have not met with great success and are in last place in popularity, which is more or less understandable given their price. It is therefore a question whether the arrival of a few more changes will actually be enough.

What changes will AirPods Max receive?

First of all, let's shed some light on what changes the AirPods Max 2 will actually see. Of course, the absolute basis will most likely be the new Apple H2 chipset. It is he who is responsible for a number of other changes and the overall shift in quality forward, and that is why it is reasonable to expect that even the most expensive Apple headphones will receive it. After all, this H2 chip is directly responsible for the significantly better active ambient noise suppression mode, which is now 2x more effective in AirPods Pro 2. The exact opposite has also been improved – the permeability mode – in which the headphones can directly filter sounds from the environment according to their type. Thanks to this, AirPods are able to suppress, for example, the sound of heavy construction equipment in the transmission mode, and at the same time, on the contrary, support human speech.

But it does not end with the mentioned news. We can still expect the arrival of the Conversation Boost function, which is used for people with mild hearing impairment, and sensors that detect the skin. Paradoxically, the AirPods Max are currently the only newer headphones (the exception being the still-selling AirPods 2) that rely on infrared sensors to detect whether the user has the headphones on or not. Conversely, other newer models have sensors capable of detecting contact with the skin. According to the news from AirPods Pro 2, we can still count on the arrival of longer battery life, better resistance to sweat and the U1 chip, which can play an important role in (precisely) searching for headphones. MagSafe charging could come as well.

Finally, let's take a look at another relatively important feature of the AirPods Pro 2. In addition to the new H2 chip, these headphones also boast Bluetooth 5.3 support, which the new iPhone 14 (Pro), Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra. So it is more or less clear that the AirPods Max 2 will have to come with the same gadget. The support of the newer standard brings more stability, quality, and at the same time has a positive impact on energy consumption.

Will AirPods Max 2 succeed?

As we mentioned right at the beginning, the main question is whether the AirPods Max 2 will finally meet with success. Headphones as such will currently cost you less than 16 crowns, which may discourage many potential users. But it is necessary to realize that these are more professional headphones aimed at audio lovers. It is therefore a limited target group, and due to this it is clear that the same number of units as, for example, the classic AirPods can never be sold.

In any case, AirPods Max faced quite sharp criticism, and it is therefore a question whether the arrival of the mentioned news will actually be enough to ensure the success of the second generation. How do you feel about AirPods Max? Are you thinking about acquiring the expected successor?
