Nevertheless, the fashion giant ASOS decided to produce and even sell non-playing AirPods. In short, it is a fashion accessory, clearly benefiting from the popularity of wireless headphones from Apple.
Imitation of AirPods in silver color sells fashion chain ASOS as jewelry for €8,49 (approximately 220 crowns), and this example clearly demonstrates that every product has its buyer. Fortunately, Asos doesn't try to pretend to sell headphones like some Asian retailers or internet scammers, and this is very likely the only version that doesn't pretend to be anything more than a fashion accessory.

But fake AirPods also point to how some users perceive real AirPods. For most people, AirPods are really just headphones, used to comfortably play songs or make phone calls. But there are also those for whom wireless headphones from Apple represent something of a social status - the same was the case, for example, with the "wired" EarPods, which came with the iPod, for example.
It seems that although - in contrast to, for example, the Apple Watch Edition - Apple definitely did not seek to enter the world of fashion in the case of AirPods, it inadvertently succeeded.
