About the fact that Apple AirPods are wireless headphones (review here) extremely popular, no one can argue. Apple absolutely nailed it with this product and it shows even now, almost a year after it was announced (eight months after it went on sale). It's still on AirPods on the official website two-week waiting period, although they are usually already in stock at other large retailers. This sales success has now been confirmed by the analytical company NPD, which has come up with sales data from the American market.
Although these are only US sales data, they can still be quite interesting for projection to the rest of the world. When AirPods do so well in their homeland, it can be assumed that they will do similarly in the rest of the world. According to NPD's survey results, more than 900 wireless headphones have been sold in the US so far (since the beginning of the year). AirPods cut an incredible 85% of this pie.
Apple thus completely dominates and looks at its competition, in the form of products from Samsung and Bragi, from a great distance. According to NPD, several key factors contribute to the success of AirPods. Among them are, for example, a very well-chosen price (which is quite competitive in this segment), the influence of the Apple brand as such, and the great functionality of the product, especially the ease of use and the presence of the W1 chip.
Users are excited about the level of integration with other Apple products and Siri. What, on the contrary, does not matter so much is the quality of the music. It is said that users primarily view headphones not only as a tool for listening to music, but rather as a functional extension for their iPhone/iPad. The success of Apple's headphones can also have a significant impact on the access of other players to this segment. New products will have a rather difficult time as they will have to come up with something new to attract customers. Since AirPods don't really have weaknesses, the competition will have a hard time.

A philosophy worthy of Apple fans. I buy headphones and I don't care how they play. It's like, I'm going to buy a TV and I don't care how it plays, even B&W, the main thing is that it has a bambilion of meaningless functions? But is it true, in the end, that the iPhone is terrible as a player, so yogurt cups can be bundled with it, connected by a thread?
I agree, but I also own a Samsung, so I don't deal with headphones falling out of my ears. Nemlich, if I had the ones without wires, I probably wouldn't have found out. luckily the price put me off :-D
99 percent looking for a second earpiece, 1 percent listening. option 2: I leave the house for the first time with new headphones, I either look like a fallen leaf or a public transport full of people..
My headphones have never fallen out of my ears, and I exercise, work and run with them. When running, I had the feeling at the beginning that it must fall out at some point, especially when running downhill or up stairs, but it hasn't happened yet. And since I almost always put them back in the box, I don't even look for them. Once my colleagues hid one of my earphones, so I let them be found via Find My iPhone and they watched :-)
I'm not picky about sound, but at first listen I knew it was better than classic EarPads. Great headphones, I couldn't do without them today. And another plus, I don't have any pressure on my ears at all, I don't even feel them in my ears.
It's not just about completely falling out of the ears, but also about the fact that they are constantly moving in the ears, especially during some activity. It is logical, they are made of shiny and therefore slippery plastic to the ear, if they were gently rubberized, this would not happen. One is thus forced to constantly modify them, because they gradually disappear from the music of the depths where it is most recognizable.
How they fit in the ears is always about the shape of the ear canal, I don't mind for an hour, after a long time I have a bruised ear from them, especially if I really put them on, not just push them in a little.
Otherwise, their design is good in that, compared to classic headphones, they provide enough bass and yet do not completely isolate a person from the surroundings, as is the case with plugs.
They play decently well, I can wear them for two hours as the only ones - unlike earplugs with memory foam, they have a box with a charger, they work simply and intuitively.
Honestly, that's not much for five liters.
For five liters each, the headphones have several sizes of ear "tips". So I can have them in my ears all day long.
You too without the bullshit. I just plug them in and play and play and play. And I enjoy music. In FLAC, MQA,…. oh, the iPhone can't actually play it, so are the "headphones" actually enough for undemanding users?
Well, do you know something significantly better in a similar price range in wireless design?
You can get a wired one that plays better, yes, I have an Etymotic HF5 myself, but there aren't that many alternatives in wireless...
In addition, Airpods do not play badly, in my opinion they are one of the best headphones in this design. And believe it or not, there are quite a lot of people who really don't like in-ears (and it's not just about changing the size of the earpieces)... And if someone has an objective problem with in-ears, their choice becomes even narrower :-(
Well, first of all, it doesn't refute what I wrote. If they play like the wired ones, then it's humus and you've probably never had really good headphones. There are quite a few for five thousand.
I personally have a philosophy that if I want headphones, they should have quality sound, if I want a TV, a quality picture, etc. I consider everything else to be crap for scumbags who are not looking for quality.
I don't know about BT headphones, because there is always enough money in BT and crap, and there is not enough money left for the primary one. I personally chose Cardas EM5813. And the fact that I can survive with a cable also has its advantages.

Also, I don't want to look like an idiot :-)

But we all have priorities somewhere else. Some wear headphones for sound, others to have antennae sticking out of their ears :-)
Only a complete ignoramus can say that BT headphones are for undemanding customers with BT 4 (and above). I like AirPods, but unfortunately the shape of EarPods doesn't fit me either, so it doesn't make sense for me. But the technology is great and I haven't seen anything similar and especially perfectly integrated in the competition.

In that case, I am ignorant. No truly high-quality BT headphones are made. I even started searching for this topic.
If you have AirPods or every time I read the battery, DAC, BT receiver and all that miniauturi, i.e. expensive, charging box, so I get about a liter for the converters (headphones) themselves, which is the category of fairground cracker. So you answered yourself. In addition, the plastic body is probably not the best material for sound? Yes, the function has it, I don't take it from them, but the sound? Not that. Sorry. Some use headphones for sound, some for equipment, why not.
I was talking about BT headphones.
And what am I writing about? ???
AirPods if I'm not mistaken.
Try an expanded sentence, maybe then I'll get the point.
I reconsidered, I don't care. We have freedom, everyone can buy what they want - problem solved.
We are talking about wireless headphones here.
And what did I write the "epics" about to Tajtrdlík? The worst thing is to come across people who have a problem with understanding the written text?
You wrote about wired headphones, at a price of 5k they can't play the same as the wired ones, regardless of the transmission technology. I have Etymotics and HiFiMans for quality sound, but I don't want a cable outside and total isolation from the surroundings. Cape?
I mainly wrote about the fact that when I choose headphones, I choose according to the quality of the sound and not according to the functions. Like other things. I also drink beer according to taste and not according to whether it has an interesting glass. Cape?
And yes, they definitely can't. In addition, I don't understand how any total isolation from the environment is related to whether the headphones are "wired" or not.
If you choose headphones based on sound alone, then why are you even writing such comments? Most people always search for a product according to many parameters.
Did you read the article??? Probably not. I was reacting to the fact that someone buys headphones and does not deal with the sound. By parameters? And what kind? So, according to which parameters headphones are selected, I would be happy to be instructed.
You won't believe it, but I suppose headphones are bought primarily for the sound, just like TV for the picture and food maybe for the taste ??? But maybe today is a different time and headphones are bought because of the color ??? or earwax measurement ???
In the German Audio test, which is a magazine devoted to hi-fi and has been published for at least 30 years, AirPods have 60 points and an average rating, which is quite low for CZK 5. In other words, what I wrote applies, the money is in the electronics, but not in the quality of the converters.
Thor Stein I would honestly be interested in your alternative to Airpods. here with us
I already wrote to her, Beoplay H5 or Sennheiser Momentum. For the same approx. 5 CZK, they play better. Just don't make those waves with some features around. That costs something. Logically at the expense of the quality of the converters, processing or something else.
