Some leakers prophesied their introduction in the first half of this year, with March or April being the most talked about. In any case, these reports were refuted by the renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to whom we will have to wait until the third quarter. And as it seems, his prediction is the closest for now. The portal has now come up with new information DigiTimes, according to which the new AirPods will be introduced in September alongside the iPhone 13 series.

Citing well-informed sources, DigiTimes claims that production of the handsets will begin as early as August. Thus, the September performance would make relative sense. Even now, the necessary components are being collected and preparations are underway for the start of mass production. AirPods 3 should offer a fundamental change in design compared to the second generation, which was introduced in March 2019, i.e. more than two years ago. In terms of appearance, the new headphones will be based on the more expensive AirPods Pro model, while at the same time they will also have shorter legs. Nevertheless, these will be standard "pieces" and we should not count on functions such as active suppression of ambient noise.

At the same time, a rather interesting theory appeared, according to which the presentation alongside the new Apple phones makes sense. Since Apple no longer bundles wired EarPods in iPhone packaging, it seems logical to introduce and promote the new AirPods 3 wireless headphones at the same time. The new AirPods Pro 2nd generation should then arrive next year.
