Specifically, we saw the arrival of panel groups, the bottom row of panels and the ability to install extensions. Along with the mentioned lower row of panels, the address row itself was understandably moved to the lower side of the display, which brought with it a certain controversy and a considerable wave of criticism. In short, apple growers did not react completely positively to this change, and many of them therefore immediately decided to return to the former normal. Of course, the possibility to set the previous form, and therefore to move the address bar back to the top, has not disappeared.

Did Apple go in the right direction in this, or did it "experiment" too much and more or less didn't please anyone with its change? The users themselves started debating about it on discussion forums, where they quite possibly surprised many supporters of the traditional approach. Their opinion is practically unanimous - they welcome the address line at the bottom with open arms and would never return it to the top.

But how is it possible that the apple growers turned 180° and, on the contrary, began to welcome the change? In this regard, it is quite simple. The address bar at the bottom of the display is much more user-friendly, as it is much easier to reach when using the iPhone with one hand. Such a thing is simply not possible in the opposite case, which is doubly true in the case of larger models.

At the same time, habit is also an important factor. Practically all of us have used browsers with the address bar at the top for years. There was simply no alternative among the most used browsers. Because of this, it was difficult for everyone to get used to the new location, and of course it wasn't something we could just relearn in one day. It is not for nothing that they say that custom is an iron shirt. After all, it showed itself in this case as well. It was enough to give the change a chance, relearn it and then enjoy more comfortable use.
We must also not forget to mention another innovation that clearly works in favor of the change itself. In this case, gesture support is not missing either. By simply swiping your finger along the address bar from left to right or vice versa, you can switch between open panels, or when moving from bottom to top, display all currently open panels. Overall, control and navigation have been simplified and the use itself has been made more pleasant. Although Apple first met with bitter criticism, it did not take long before it met with positive reviews in the finale.

I don't know anyone who uses the address bar below. Everyone normally has it on top. And I completely understand – everywhere else it's also at the top, so it doesn't really make sense to have it reversed on a mobile phone. Especially on mobile, where users only rarely touch the address bar, otherwise they more or less click on links, the address bar at the bottom is an unnecessary obstacle. And that it cannot be reached at the top? Every apple grower knows a simple gesture that solves this problem. 😉
