Adobe has mentioned in the past that it is working on a new version of its Illustrator app for the iPad. Illustrator is to undergo really fundamental changes, which will include, among other things, full support for the Apple Pencil. The public could get a rough idea of what the new Illustrator will offer last November, when Adobe presented its plans for Illustrator for the iPad at its Adobe MAX event. The iPad version of Illustrator should not lose any of its features, performance or quality.

In addition to Apple Pencil compatibility, Illustrator for iPad should offer the same features as its desktop version. The application will allow users to use a number of new functions that Apple introduced in its iPadOS operating system while working, but it will also work with the iPad's camera. With its help, for example, it will be possible to take a photo of a hand-drawn sketch, which can then be converted into vectors in the application. All files will be stored in the Creative Cloud, allowing users to start work on a project on the iPad and seamlessly continue it on the computer.

This week, Adobe began sending out private invitations to beta test the iPadOS version of Illustrator to select users who have expressed interest in testing in the past. People are gradually starting to brag about their invitations on social networks. One of the "chosen" was the programmer and athlete Masahiko Yasui, who on his Twitter posted a screenshot of the invitation. According to him, he is still waiting to get access to the beta version. He also received an invitation to test the beta version of Illustrator for iPad Melvin Morales. More details about the beta version of Illustrator are not yet available, but the full version should be released later this year.
