Some of the well-known and powerful creative applications from Adobe have been available for some time now not only on the computer, but also on their iPad - such as Lightroom or Photoshop, whose full version for the iPad appeared this week. Now, at this year's Adobe MAX, the company has also rebuilt Illustrator in the iPad version. The application is currently in early development, with an official release scheduled for next year.

Similar to Photoshop, Adobe also wants to pave the way for touch control of the application in Illustrator. Illustrator will of course work with the Apple Pencil on the iPad, making it a key tool for creators who demand precision. The app is built with the help of a tool called Spectrum to ensure consistent usage of the app across different devices.

With Illustrator, file management and sharing will take place through cloud storage, and files opened on iPad will not lose quality or accuracy. Illustrator for iPad should also receive several exclusive features, including the ability to take a photo of a cartoon sketch and instantly convert it into vectors. The application will also offer full integration with Adobe Fonts, tools for repeating patterns and other features.

As we mentioned in the introduction, we should be expecting Illustrator for iPad over the course of the next year – most likely it will be officially launched at Adobe MAX 2020. Serious interested parties can sign up for a beta test at Adobe website.
