Apple liked the Czech Republic. At least for shooting commercials, the environment of Czech cities and castles is attractive for the Californian company. Recently, she focused specifically on Prague, where last year she filmed an advertising spot for the iPhone XR. However, the Czech metropolis also appeared for a small moment during yesterday's conference, at which Apple presented the new iPhone 11, iPad and the fifth series of Apple Watch.

Yesterday's nearly two-hour long Apple keynote was packed with all kinds of news, so it was basically impossible to notice some details. For our people, the most interesting ones, which many probably missed, were the shots from Prague. Specifically, during the promotion of the new Apple Watch Series 5, the Prague subway appeared for a few seconds in the advertisement for the watch.

Footage of the Prague subway in an advertisement for the new Apple Watch Series 5:

Footage from the Prague subway can be seen from 0:32, when Apple states that the Apple Watch can serve as a ticket under certain circumstances and then highlights its ability to play millions of songs from Apple Music to wireless headphones. At the beginning of the shot, a green board can be seen for a short moment, on which the final stops Nemocnice Motol and Depo Hostivař are indicated. So it is one of the stops on line A.

That it is really Prague is also confirmed by shots of the entire platform, the appearance of which is characteristic of the Prague metro. However, the turnstiles with NFC technology, which allow entry to the platform after placing a watch, are somewhat confusing. Not only does the Prague metro not support tickets uploaded to an NFC chip, but the terminals themselves do not look like this on line A either. So most likely the turnstiles are added to the video in post-production.

The Czech Republic as the main location for Apple ads

In any case, the rest of the shots of the subway - including the car itself - from Prague are certainly and only confirm how interesting our capital, and indeed the whole of the Czech Republic, is for Apple. For example, in 2016, a Cupertino company filmed on the square in Žatec, its main Christmas advertisement Frankie's Holiday. In the same year, she also released an advertising spot for the iPhone 7 under the name Romeo & Juliet, which was captured in the vicinity of Libochovice Castle. A year later, Apple bet on Prague and its streets shot a Sway commercial highlighting AirPods. Last year in Holešovice, from the entrance to the Vltavská metro and also in the vicinity of the National Theater and Nová scéna shot a commercial for the iPhone XR called Color Flood. And a little later he became familiar Czech dancer Yemi AD took the lead role in the iPad commercial.
