Puzzle games, in which you move various objects in a limited space to make your way to a certain location, are almost as old as the video game industry itself. At the same time, the subgenre can still surprise with original concepts, as games like A Monster's Expedition or Bonfire Peaks. Patrick Traynor's novelty, aptly named after its creator Patrick's Parabox, approaches the subgenre in an extremely original way.

The main hero of the game is the four-sided Patrick, who has to move not only himself, but also other squares around the two-dimensional game maps. However, simple scrolling will not help him. Patrick can squeeze into most of the squares themselves, even together with another square. The boxes can then contain other boxes that you can push your way into. This recursive mechanic is the main attraction of the game.

In Patrick's Parabox you will find over 350 different puzzles. At the same time, all of them represent a variation of some of the game mechanics. The developer promises that you won't find any of the puzzles in the game just for numbers. Electronic music composed by composer Priscilla Snow will play for you to solve the rather challenging levels. If you want to try the game before you buy, you can find it at her Steam page and a free demo version.
