When Apple introduced the AirTag, this accessory became an instant bestseller. Of course, this is due to the fact that the company fundamentally improved and opened the Najít platform even before it, but also the fact that it contains unique technologies and functions basically for a few crowns.

Of course, it always depends on the point of view, but if we look at the products that Apple sells, if we exclude headphones, cables, adapters and reducers, this is the cheapest product of the company, which is why almost every Apple lover owns it. By the way, one piece will cost you CZK 890, a pack of four for CZK 2, although it is true that there are often various discounts on AirTags, thanks to which you can save a few hundred.

After all, it is also worth saving on AirTag key chains, when the original Apple one is more expensive than the AirTag itself - that is, in the case of the one made of FineWoven fabric, which costs CZK 1, the ordinary original white strap costs the same as the AirTag itself. After all, Apple is also doing well in the field of cases, which proves that it paid off to come up with a new material, namely FineWoven. This is used, for example, in MagSafe wallets or Apple Watch straps.

What's next?

So AirTag has shown that customers don't just want iPhones and computers, but are satisfied with such a trifle. The more expensive the device, the bigger the margin Apple has on it, that's logical. On the other hand, small things like that, where AirTag is definitely a small thing, also keep its little fish company in its pond. No matter what alternative you try, even Samsung's Galaxy SmartTag2, it can't compare to Apple's own solution.

It is therefore quite a shame that the company cannot come up with more and does not push it more into us customers. At first, a more compact Apple TV is offered, which would be more like a Chromecast with Google TV, i.e. a flash drive, not a "big" box. Since Apple already has its own Apple TV Remote, would it really be that difficult to make a universal remote? Actually the same one, only with extended functionality? What about routers? Apple used to make its irPorts, then it got rid of them and cut this portfolio. Google has its Nest Wi-Fi Pro. Why? Because everyone needs a router. So Apple is missing out on a unique opportunity to reach the masses. I'd be the first in line to want an Apple router.

Cameras, doorbells, locks, sensors for a smart home, and even sponges are what I also miss from Apple. At least the sensors wouldn't have to be anything complicated, they could even be affordable and big, actually, like AirTag. They would then easily inform you, for example, if you have a closed window or an open door, etc. It's a small thing, but it makes sense. And if we had this little thing directly from Apple, our life would be that much easier.
