For the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague, the company GoodShape has developed its first iOS application, which will allow visitors to Prague to get to know the city more closely and better navigate the city's public transport.
In the middle of the year, DPP published the book 33 Prague Trips by public transport, which is mainly aimed at foreign tourists. Considering the size of the smartphone market, the DPP also made it their mission that it would be good to offer this book to tourists in electronic form as well. Apple iPhone owners can download the Prague Trips by public transport application at any time and plan their route around Prague in advance.
Users of this application will of course find information about fares, where and how much to buy tickets, which lines and metro stops are in Prague, which of them are barrier-free, as well as many other useful tips. Online search for various connections is also a matter of course. All this helps us to have Prague in the palm of our hands.
The most important part of the app is the trips themselves. There are 33 of them in total, and each of them contains a detailed description of what can be seen during the trip, important information to remember is highlighted here, and quality photos are also an important part. The detail of the given trip includes connection options and map display.
One of the requirements for the creation of this application was 100% functionality without an Internet connection, which is especially useful for active tourism abroad. As it is the first DPP mobile application, this version is not too complicated. It has been available since August in the English language and now also in the Czech version.
When designing, GoodShape didn't forget about Facebook, which surrounds us everywhere. You can mark individual trips as favorite or already completed, and if you connect to Facebook, this information will also appear on your wall with the name and a photo from the trip.
The application is available for all countries for a reasonable €3.99, it is designed for Apple iPhone phones and works on all devices supporting iOS 4 and higher.

It would be better if you didn't spend money on applications for tourists and foreign ones on top of that. such a reduction of overpriced fares, or modernization of sets, elimination of vandalism are significantly better investments than in such crap!
Due to the too high prices for transport in Prague, I started driving only by car, it's cheaper and more convenient. After a few trips, you can estimate the arrival time quite accurately...
If you think about it from the other side, it's not a bad investment. Prague is very popular with tourists, and such an application can theoretically attract more visitors to the capital and make their visit to the sights more pleasant...
And if you're wondering about the price of a trip... I don't know what the price of a trip is at the moment (I'm guessing about 28 Kc, there and back 56 Kc = 2 liters) which is almost one liter of gasoline. And here in Sydney, you need a return ticket for a train (metro) for about 10-20 km with a stop in the center, it costs $5,40, which is about 3.8 liters of gasoline. And I'm not talking about what kind of services the bus transport provides here, damn it.
So who should I follow…
PS: I simplified it a bit, of course I didn't consider some other factors, but it's enough to create a picture
hawk :-)
Overpriced fare in Prague? :D LOL … 550 a month sounds like a lot to you right? :D
So I wouldn't say that fares are overpriced in Prague. Golden Prague transport. Now I'm in Dublin, on a study stay, and the ticket here costs me something like 2200,- per month :-( and the buses here run as they want. There's no timetable either, only when the bus leaves from the terminal ;-)
I agree, as a student I pay around 300CZK per month, even if I had to pay the full price, I couldn't be angry, because it is a ticket that is valid 24/7. I don't understand people who complain.
Btw. the lite version, which is free, can now be found in the AppStore...
