Late last year, the popular Twitter app returned to the Mac. Users can thank the Catalyst project for this return, which allows developers to easily and seamlessly port iPad applications to the macOS operating system environment. The creators of the application work carefully to bring the best possible experience to users, and as part of this effort, they recently added support for the Touch Bar, which is equipped with some of the newer MacBook Pro models.

Touch Bar support is offered by Twitter for Mac in version 8.5. The creators of the application stated in their official press statement that they made several partial improvements to their Twitter for Mac in the mentioned update. In addition to the newly introduced Touch Bar support, the latest version of Twitter for Mac offers, for example, improved video playback options in the application - after clicking on the playing video bar, users can move to a selected part of the clip.

As part of the fixes, the creators of Twitter for Mac also introduced opening the help center in a separate browser and improved the threading of the conversation. Touch Bar support will now allow owners of compatible MacBook Pros to add a tweet using a button on the Touch Bar. In addition, users will be able to use the Touch Bar to switch between the latest and most important posts, and on the bar they will also find buttons to launch preferences, write messages or view lists. Touch Bar support is still in its infancy at Twitter for Mac, so it can be assumed that work on it will continue and users will see further improvements. In addition to the Touch Bar, the latest version of Twitter for Mac also supports the Sidecar feature, which allows Mac owners running macOS Catalina to use their iPad as a second display.
