The stars of today's event, which starts at 19 p.m. our time, will certainly be the new MacBook Pros. They should be supplemented by the Mac mini, and perhaps finally the AirPods 3 together with the release of macOS Monterey. There are still a lot of products that should be updated, but most likely we won't get them today.

MacBook Air

Apple is reportedly working on an improved version of the ‌Mac mini‌ with an updated design and the same "M1X" chip that is expected to be used in the MacBoocíh Pro. It is therefore possible that we will see it a year after the introduction of its version with the M1 chip, when both products will be sold together. However, the same scenario should not happen with the MacBook Air, which is also one year old. Apple presented both machines with the 13" MacBook Pro just last year.

Possible color variants of the new MacBook Air:

The MacBook Air is generally not expected to be updated until next year. It should get the same chip that Apple will now introduce in MacBook Pros, but probably a smaller 13" mini-LED display (MacBook Pros will get 14 and 16 inches). There is also the implementation of a cut-out for the FaceTime camera, which has been talked about a lot in recent days in connection with MacBook Pros, and of course an expanded color portfolio that should correspond to the 24" iMac.

Mac Pro

Apple is reportedly developing two versions of the Mac Pro, which will differ not only in terms of installed hardware, but also in appearance. The lower series should be based more on the Mac mini, when it should stand out especially with its compact dimensions. The new models will then offer the top options of Apple Silicon chips with 20 or 40 computing cores. But we don't know anything more yet, and it's quite possible that Apple will introduce them with M2 chips or even longer. A version with Intel processors is not even possible.

iPad Air

The next-generation iPad Air can be equipped with a mini-LED or OLED display and features at the level of the current iPad Pro, such as 5G connectivity, LiDAR, improved cameras and speakers, and last but not least, Face ID instead of the current Touch ID. But it's not talked about too much, and since Apple introduced the iPads alongside the iPhone 13 only in September, it's unlikely that any next generation of them will happen again.

Current generation iPad Air:

AirPods Pro

Compared to how long the 3rd generation AirPods have been expected, the successor to the Pro model is more like wishful thinking. Of course, these headphones should contain a new wireless chip, an innovative design without characteristic stopwatches, and many would certainly like their longer life. Currently, however, we will only be happy with the 3rd generation of AirPods without any of their professional monikers.

Expected shape of AirPods 3rd generation:

iPod touch

In Apple's current portfolio, the 7th generation iPod touch doesn't make much sense. If Apple decides to keep the iPod brand alive for a while longer, when else would it be appropriate to introduce a successor than alongside the new generation of AirPods? Even though there was a wave of the possible appearance of the news spreading on the Internet, it was more about fan renders than any real information leaks. Rather than a new generation, we will see a quiet end to sales and the iPod saga will be closed for good. In addition, presenting a device designed for entertainment next to professional machines does not quite go together.

HomePod

Along with the 3rd generation AirPods and the 8th generation iPod touch, the 2nd generation HomePod would surely be worth introducing. Apple has already removed the first one from its offer and currently only sells a mini version of its smart speaker. But even in this case, there are no mentions anywhere that we should expect any kind of surprise.

Apple glasses and their variants

Whether it should be glasses, AR or a VR headset, which has been rumored for a long time, it is still simply too early for such a product. Different brands in connection with different platforms (currently Ray-Ban in connection with Facebook, which introduced the Stories model) are already trying it, but it is certainly not the way that Apple wants to go. The HTC VIVE Flow VR system might be more interesting, but... would we really want something like that from Apple right now?
