There are probably only a few Apple users who do not use the YouTube application on their iPhone. Whether you're using this platform to watch music videos, helpful tutorials, or even gaming videos, you'll definitely find our seven tips and tricks for making better use of it useful today.

Deactivation of autoplay

Among other things, YouTube has a feature that automatically plays another related video after you play a running video. But this function is rather annoying for many users, so it is useful to know how to deactivate it. In the upper right corner of the screen, click on your profile icon and then select Settings. After that, just tap on Autoplay to disable autoplay of the next video.

Change the rewind time

In the course of using the YouTube app on your iPhone, you must have noticed that double-tapping the right or left part of the video window allows you to move forward or backward. If you are not comfortable with the default ten second shift, you can change this limit in Settings -> General -> Skip forward or back.

Saving data by reducing playback quality

If you occasionally play YouTube videos while connected to mobile data, you will definitely appreciate a tip that can help you reduce data consumption at least partially. In the upper right corner of the screen, tap your profile icon and then select Settings -> Video quality preferences. Tap Over Mobile Network and then choose Data Saver.

Anonymous mode

Incognito mode can be used for various purposes in the YouTube app. Your watch history and searches will not be saved in this mode. To switch to incognito mode, tap on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen and then just tap on Turn on incognito mode at the top of the screen.

Tracking overview

Do you want to get an overview of how long you watched videos and how much time you actually spent in the YouTube app? If you tap your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen and then select Playtime, you'll see clear graphs and statistics that tell you how much time you've actually spent on YouTube.

Check your time on YouTube

Do you feel like you need a bit of a whip when watching YouTube videos? In the application, you can set, for example, a grocery store reminder or a notification that you should take a break from YouTube after watching for a long time. In the upper right corner of the display, click on your profile icon and select Settings -> General. Here you can set up a nightstand and a break reminder.

Limited mode

Are you managing your child's YouTube account, don't want to download the YouTube Kids app, and at the same time want to limit the flow of potentially inappropriate content? Then there is nothing easier than clicking on the profile icon in the upper right corner and then choosing Settings -> General. Is it enough to activate Restricted mode?
