Apple announced iOS 15 at WWDC 2021 held in June. He also showed off many of the system's new features, including SharePlay, improved FaceTim and Messaging, redesigned Safari, focus mode, and more. However, while the system will be released to the general public next month, certain functions will not be part of it.

Every year, the situation is the same - during the final beta testing of the system, Apple removes some of its features that are not yet ready for a live release. Either the engineers just didn't have time to fine-tune them, or they simply show many errors. Also this year, the first version of iOS 15 will not include some of the new features that Apple presented at WWDC21. And unfortunately for users, some of them are among the most anticipated.

shareplay

The SharePlay function is one of the key innovations, but it will not come with iOS 15 and we will only see it with the update to iOS 15.1 or iOS 15.2. Logically, it will not be present in iPadOS 15, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey either. Apple stated this, that in the 6th developer beta of iOS 15, he actually disabled this feature so that developers could still work on it and better debug its functionality across apps. But we should wait until autumn.

The point of the function is that you can share the screen with all the participants of the FaceTime call. You can browse housing ads together, look through a photo album or plan your next vacation together - while still seeing and talking to each other. You can also watch movies and series or listen to music. All thanks to synchronized playback.

Universal control

For many, the second biggest and certainly the most interesting new feature is the Universal Control function, with the help of which you can control your Mac and iPad from one keyboard and one mouse cursor. But this news has not yet arrived in any of the developer beta versions, so it is certain that we will not see it anytime soon, and Apple will take its time with its introduction.

In-App Privacy Report

Apple is constantly adding more and more personal data protection elements to its operating system, when we should expect the so-called App Privacy Report function in iOS 15. With its help, you can find out how applications use granted permissions, which third-party domains they contact, and when they last contacted them. So you would find out if this was already in the base of the system, but it won't be. Although developers can work with text files, graphically this feature is said not to be worked out yet.

Custom email domain

Apple on its own website confirmed that users will be able to use their own domains to customize iCloud email addresses. The new option should also work with family members via iCloud Family Sharing. But this option is not yet available to any iOS 15 beta users. Like many iCloud+ features, this option will come later. However, Apple announced this earlier for iCloud+.

Detailed 3D navigation in CarPlay

Apple showed off at WWDC21 how it has improved its Maps app, which will now include a 3D interactive globe, as well as new driving features, improved search, clear guides and detailed buildings in some cities. Even if CarPlay is not officially available in our country, you can start it without difficulty in many cars. The new maps with their improvements are already available as part of iOS 15, but cannot be enjoyed after connecting with CarPlay. It can therefore be assumed that this will also be the case in the sharp version, and the news in CarPlay will also come later.

Referred contacts

Apple will allow an iOS 15 user to set up linked contacts that will have the right to access the device if its owner dies, without the need to know the Apple ID password. Of course, such a contact will have to provide Apple with confirmation that this has happened. However, this feature was not available to testers until the 4th beta, and with the current version it was removed completely. We will have to wait for this as well.

What's New in FaceTime:

Identity cards

Support for ID cards has never been available in any beta testing of the system. Apple has also already confirmed on its website that this feature will be released separately with the next iOS 15 update later this year. It's also important to note that IDs in the Wallet app will only be available to US users, so we don't really have to worry too much about this specifically.
