Apple held another one of its annual Keynotes yesterday. As part of this year's event, in addition to a trio of new iPhones, it also presented the Apple Watch Series 4 to the world. As is often the case, the public - and perhaps not only the public - expected a little more. What was supposed to be shown at the Steve Jobs Theater yesterday and wasn't?

One of the innovations that many people were hoping for was the AirPower wireless charging pad. But we didn't even get a new iPad Pro or a new generation of Macs. All the mentioned products are currently being worked hard on, when Apple will present them, but it is in the stars. Let's look at them in more detail.

iPad Pro

It has been speculated for some time that Apple is working on a new iPhone X-style iPad Pro with thinner bezels and no Home Button. iPad Pro design images leaked from one of the iOS 12 betas show the iPad Pro without a notch and with thin bezels. According to estimates, the iPad Pro was supposed to have a display diagonal of 11 and 12,9 inches, and the location of the antenna was also to be changed.

Mac mini

Many people have been clamoring for a Mac mini update for a long time. Apple was supposed to be working on a version intended primarily for professional users. The new Mac mini was supposed to come with new storage and performance options, and therefore also with a higher price. Not too much information about the upcoming Mac mini is available, but according to everything, it is supposed to be a higher-end version of its predecessor.

A cheaper MacBook Air

MacBook Air is one of the most popular Apple products for many reasons. Before the Keynote, there were rumors that an updated 790-inch version of the ultralight Apple laptop was coming at a lower price - and with a Retina display. Estimates of the upcoming MacBook Air's price have varied widely, usually between $1200 and $XNUMX. Numerous reports indicated that Apple could equip the new MacBook Air with Whiskey Lake chips, but the Keynote was silent on the new laptops.

12″ MacBook

The 12-inch MacBook should also receive an update - but it probably won't happen this year. Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released a slightly confusing report that the current twelve-inch MacBook could be replaced by a thirteen-inch machine, but he did not specify the details. The new 12-inch MacBook was supposed to be powered by an eighth-generation Intel Amber Lake Y processor and had, among other things, an improved battery.

iMacs

Unlike the previous products featured in this article, there has been no speculation that new iMacs will be released. But Apple updates this product line with fairly reliable regularity, so it can be assumed that it is also working on a new generation of iMacs. If the iMacs were to be updated this year, the new machines could feature eighth-generation Intel processors, an improved GPU, and other innovations.

AirPower

Long promised, introduced last year, not yet released - that's Apple's AirPower wireless charging pad. The pad was supposed to be able to charge the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time - at least according to the information that Apple provided last September. Unfortunately, we have not yet seen the launch of AirPower sales, although many hoped for its launch as part of yesterday's Keynote. All mention of AirPower has also disappeared from Apple's website
