The sharp version of the iOS 15 operating system available to the general public was released by Apple on September 20, and since then we have already seen two other hundredth versions of it with various bug fixes. The release of the first major update of this system is planned for today - specifically iOS 15.1. What features should it bring?

Since the developers already have the beta version of the upcoming operating system at their disposal, they also know what changes it contains compared to the base version. So we will see the postponed SharePlay but also other minor improvements. iPhone 13 Pro owners should then start looking forward to ProRes videos.

shareplay

The SharePlay function was one of the main ones that Apple showed us when introducing iOS 15. In the end, we didn't get to see it in a sharp version. Its main integration is in FaceTime calls, where between the participants you can watch series and movies, listen to music or share the screen with what you are currently doing on your phone - that is, typically in the case of browsing social networks.

COVID-19 Vaccination in Apple Wallet

If we now want to prove that we have been vaccinated against the disease COVID-19, show information about the disease that we have had or a negative test that we have undergone, the Tečka application is primarily intended for this in the Czech Republic. However, it does not matter what service you use to prove these facts. So Apple wants to unify all possible certificates under one service, and that should of course be its Apple Wallet.

ProRes on iPhone 13 Pro

As was the case last year with the Apple ProRAW format, which was introduced with the iPhone 12 Pro but was not immediately available, history is repeating itself this year. Apple showed ProRes together with the iPhone 13 Pro, but after the start of their sales, it is not yet available within their current operating system. This function will then ensure that owners of the most advanced iPhones will be able to record, process and send materials in TV quality on the go thanks to high color fidelity and low format compression. And for the first time on a mobile phone. However, it is necessary to take into account the appropriate requirements for internal storage. This is also why a capacity of at least 4 GB is required for recording in 256K resolution.

Macro switch

And the iPhone 13 Pro once again. Their camera has learned to take macro photos and videos. And while Apple certainly meant well, it didn't give the user the choice to manually invoke this mode, which caused considerable embarrassment. So the tenth update should fix this. It is not just an available information for the user that the wide-angle camera has switched to the ultra-wide-angle one for macro photography, but it also avoids unwanted switching at the moment of detection of nearby objects, which had a somewhat confusing effect.

Lossless audio for HomePod

Apple previously announced that lossless audio support for Apple Music would come to the HomePod in iOS 15. We can't wait for that to change right now.

AirPods Pro

iOS 15.1 should also fix an issue with the original version that prevented some AirPods Pro users from using Siri to control active noise cancellation and throughput features.
