When Apple introduced the new iPhone 2022 (Pro) series in September 14, it managed to attract a literal avalanche of attention. Although the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models did not garner so much favor, mainly due to practically zero innovations, on the contrary, the more advanced iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max caused quite a stir among apple lovers. Pročka boasted a significantly better main camera, a more powerful chipset, and above all, a completely new product with the Dynamic Island label.

This brings us to one of the least popular features of Apple phones in recent years. Of course, we are talking about the upper cutout in the display (notch), which hides the so-called TrueDepth camera, which is not only responsible for selfie photos or video calls, but also contains all the necessary sensors for the correct functionality of Face ID. However, the cut-out as such does not look the best and really spoils the aesthetic side of the phone. Dynamic Island therefore comes as a solution. Apple managed to make the notch smaller and, moreover, turned it into a design element that responds to the stimuli of the system itself.

It can therefore, for example, be extended to display notifications and the like. It is therefore not surprising that the apple growers rejoiced at his arrival. But as it turned out in practice, although the idea of Dynamic Island sounds great, the execution is not so clever. Quite simply, it can be said that there is a lot of room for improvement. Let's therefore focus on 5 changes that Apple fans would welcome in Dynamic Island.

Copying

Dynamic Island is a hugely important step forward with theoretically limitless possibilities. As we mentioned above, Apple managed to turn an unpopular feature into a design and functional element that can also be helpful. Apple users would therefore welcome it if it could be used for quick copying, be it text, links, images or others. In practice, this could work quite easily. It would be enough to mark what you want to copy and drag it with your finger into the Dynamic Island space. This could result in an immediate copy to the clipboard, thanks to which it would then be sufficient to go to the desired application and insert a specific item. This could make the daily use of apple phones noticeably more pleasant and easier.

In addition, this whole idea could be elaborated a little more. Dynamic Island could also be used to display the copying history. It would simply be enough to open it with a tap or a set gesture, and the user would see the complete history of everything you copied to the clipboard.

Better notification system

Some users would also like to see major changes to the notification system field. They could make full use of the potential of Dynamic Island, which could be used not only for specific, but for all notifications. Similar to how we described the potential functionality of history in the Copying section, Dynamic Island could also be used in the same way with regard to the needs of notifications. They could then be expanded and possibly reacted to directly in this way. On the other hand, this is a change that not everyone might welcome. The solution could therefore be that the apple grower could choose the method that suits him best.

Crab

If you are one of our regular readers, then you certainly did not miss the news that Apple's virtual assistant could be heading to Dynamic Island. This information flew through the Apple community this week, according to which the change should come with the arrival of the expected iOS 17 operating system. Siri would no longer be an obstacle in controlling the device, even when activating it. On the contrary, it would "operate" directly from the Dynamic Island environment and, if necessary, for example during a search, it could display results in it.

However, it must be mentioned that the apple growers did not react positively to this speculation. Not that they don't like the potential move of Siri to Dynamic Island, but rather the fact that Apple's assistant still lags behind its competition. Thus, a relatively important discussion was opened again. While competing giants are successfully implementing artificial intelligence capabilities, for example Microsoft and its Bing search engine with ChatGPT, Apple (for years) has been literally treading on the spot.

Popup window

In this regard, we are partially getting to the section where we addressed a better notification system. Apple users would welcome the possibility if Dynamic Island could serve as a pop-up window that also works within another application. In such a case, it would not only be easier to communicate, for example, when you could immediately display the entire conversation with the other party and possibly respond, but also multitasking at the same time. It is not written anywhere that it would necessarily have to be only communication applications. However, it is a question whether Apple ever decided for such a change.

Customization options

As we have already mentioned a few times, Dynamic Island is a relatively important element of new Apple phones and can be counted on to play an increasingly important role as it gradually expands. Therefore, it would definitely not hurt if apple growers had significantly more options on how to actually deal with it. This brings us to the so-called customization options. However, it would not have to be only a design form. In theory, Dynamic Island could also be used to automate the device - for example, when double/triple tapping, a specific action could be triggered, for example in the form of an application, Shortcuts, and the like.
