Apple laptops have the advantage that you can start using them immediately after you first bring them home, unpack them and turn them on. At first, it is certainly necessary to make a few settings that will allow you to customize your Mac even more - for example, customization regarding login, notifications or individual native applications. In addition to the basic ones, there are also a number of those that, although not absolutely necessary, can greatly improve the use of your computer. In today's article, we will bring you five of them.

Click click

If you use a trackpad on your MacBook, then you certainly know that it works like a traditional mouse click. In case you don't like clicking on the trackpad for any reason, you can activate the clicking function by simply tapping your finger. In the upper-left corner of your Mac's monitor, click  menu -> System Preferences -> Trackpad and on the card Pointing and clicking activate the option Click click.

Active corners

If you haven't yet activated the active corners feature on your Mac, you should definitely do so. It's a quick, easy, and smart way to lock your Mac, start a screen saver, or perform any other action. To adjust the active corners, click in the upper left corner  menu -> System Preferences -> Mission Control, where at the bottom left you click on Active corners and make the necessary settings.

Hard drives on desktop

Almost everyone likes their Mac's desktop to be simply "clean" and uncluttered. But sometimes it is useful to have disk icons on the desktop for better access. If you also want to place disk icons on the desktop of your Mac, launch Finder and then click on the toolbar at the top of the screen Finder -> Preferences. In the preferences tab, click on In general and then set what items you want to display on the desktop.

Toolbar customization

At the top of your Mac's screen is a bar where you can, for example, launch the oft-mentioned System Preferences or get an overview of the current time. But you can also customize this bar in a great way. If you click on the Control Center icon at the top right, you can easily and quickly drag individual elements from it up to the toolbar for better access.

Adjust the speed of the trackpad pointer

Each of us works at a different pace, and each of us is comfortable with the speed of various processes when working on a Mac. If you feel that the speed of the trackpad control on your Mac is not to your liking for any reason, you can easily adjust it in  menu -> System Preferences -> Trackpad, where you will find a section in the middle part of the window Pointer speed.
