The macOS Ventura operating system brings users a whole series of more or less significant novelties and improvements that will make your work on the Mac more pleasant and efficient. In today's article, we will introduce five interesting features in macOS Ventura that are worth trying.

Copy text from paused videos

With the advent of macOS Monterey introduced the option text extraction from photo. But Ventura goes even further in this direction and allows you to copy text from paused videos. This feature works in all native apps and tools like QuickTime Player, Apple TV, and Quick Look. It even works on any video played in Safari. Just pause the video, mark the found text, right-click on it and select Copy in the context menu.

Alarm clock on Mac

Thanks to the new alarm clock function in macOS Ventura, you no longer have to reach for your iPhone when you want to set an alarm clock, stopwatch or minute mind while working on your Mac. Press the F4 key to activate the Launchpad, from which you can launch the Clock application. All that remains is to click on the desired tab in the upper part of the application window and set everything necessary.

Quick preview in Spotlight

The macOS Ventura operating system has once again expanded the possibilities of using the native Spotlight tool a little more. As part of these new options, you can see a quick preview of selected items when searching in Spotlight. You just need to enter what you want to search for, navigate to the selected item using the arrows and display its quick preview by pressing the space bar as you are used to from the Finder.

Notifications in Weather

Apple has introduced many features in macOS Ventura that are identical to iOS 16. Among them, for example, are notifications in the native Weather. If you want to activate them on Mac as well, first launch Weather and then click Weather -> Settings in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Then check the desired notifications in the settings window. If you don't have this option enabled, head through  menu -> System Settings -> Notifications to the Weather section to enable notifications along with critical alerts.

Better work with passwords in Safari

With the arrival of macOS Ventura, Apple also made it more pleasant and efficient for users to work with passwords in the native Safari browser environment. When creating a new password in Safari on Mac, you now have many more options - in addition to choosing between creating your own password and generating a strong password, you can specify here, for example, whether it should be a password without special characters or a password that will be easy to type.
