At this year's autumn conference, Apple quite expectedly presented brand new apple phones. Specifically, we are talking about a quartet in the form of the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. It means that the Californian giant has most likely “walled off” the smallest model called mini for good, replacing it with the opposite Plus model. As for new products, there are a lot of them available, especially in the top models with the Pro designation. I certainly do not mean that the classic models are identical to last year's "thirteens". Let's look together in this article at 5 things about the new iPhone 14 (Pro) that are practically not talked about at all.

The dynamic island is touchable

For the flagship iPhone 14 Pro (Max), Apple replaced the traditional cutout with a hole, which was called a dynamic island. Specifically, it's shaped like a pill, and Apple turned it into a fully functional and interactive element that became an integral part of the iOS operating system and determined the direction iPhones would take for years to come. Many users think that this is practically a "dead" part of the display, similar to the case with cut-out models. However, the opposite is true, as the dynamic island in the new iPhone 14 Pro (Max) actually responds to touch. Specifically, through it you can, for example, quickly open an application that is currently using it, i.e., for example, the Music application when playing music, etc.

Just a white box

If you've bought a Pro-branded iPhone in recent years, you'll surely remember that you got it in a black box. This black box was different from the white box of the classic models and represented the very professionalism with which the black color has been associated in the apple world practically since ancient times. However, Apple has decided to forego the black box for this year's iPhone 14 Pro (Max). This means that all four models will come in a white box. So hopefully it won't be a problem in terms of racial balance (joke).

Improvements to movie mode

With the arrival of the iPhone 13 (Pro), we also got a brand new movie mode, through which it is possible to shoot professional-looking shots on Apple phones with the possibility of refocusing not only in real time, but also in post-production. Until now, it was possible to shoot in movie mode at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 FPS, which may not have been sufficient for some users in terms of quality. However, with the new iPhone 14 (Pro), Apple has improved the recording quality of the movie mode, so it is possible to film in a resolution of up to 4K, either at 24 FPS or even at 30 FPS.

Active camera and microphone indicator

The dynamic island is perhaps the most interesting part of the new iPhone 14 Pro (Max). We have already devoted one paragraph to it in this article, but unfortunately it is not enough, as it hides several other possibilities that are not discussed. As you probably know, within iOS, a green or orange dot is displayed indicating an active camera or microphone. On the new iPhone 14 Pro (Max), this indicator has moved directly to the dynamic island, between the TrueDepth front camera and the infrared camera with a dot projector. This means that there is a chunk of display between these components, and the islands are actually two, as depicted on most pre-show concepts. However, Apple software "blackened" the space between these islands and reserved only the indicator, which is definitely very interesting.

Improved sensors (not only) for traffic accident detection

With the arrival of the new iPhone 14 (Pro) as well as the Apple Watch trio in the form of the Series 8, SE second generation and Pro models, we saw the introduction of a new feature called traffic accident detection. As the name suggests, the new iPhones and Apple Watch can detect a traffic accident and, if necessary, contact the emergency line. In order for Apple phones and watches to correctly evaluate a traffic accident, it was necessary to deploy a new dual-core accelerometer and a highly dynamic gyroscope, with the help of which it is possible to measure an overload of up to 256 G. There is also a new barometer, which in turn can detect a change in pressure, which is usable when the airbag deploys. In addition, more sensitive microphones are also used to detect traffic accidents.
