Apple can boast of an extremely loyal fan base that simply cannot let their apples down. Whether the giant is facing various problems, the fans are willing to stand up for him and express their satisfaction. After all, this is precisely why users started to more or less pick on the Apple community from competitors, which is nothing special at all in the world of technology. Although Apple fans love Apple products for the most part, they still find a number of flaws in them. So let's shine a light on 5 things that annoy users about their iPhones, and what they would most like to get rid of.

Before we get into the list itself, we should definitely mention that not every apple lover has to agree with everything. At the same time, we hereby ask you for your own opinion. If you're missing something from this list, be sure to comment on what you'd most like to change about iPhones.

Battery percentage display

Apple prepared a fairly fundamental change for us in 2017. We saw the revolutionary iPhone X, which got rid of the bezels around the display and the home button, thanks to which it offered an edge-to-edge display and a completely new feature - Face ID technology, with the help of which the iPhone can be unlocked just by looking (through a 3D facial scan). However, since the components required for the correct functionality of Face ID are not exactly the smallest, the Cupertino giant had to bet on a cutout (notch). It is located at the top of the screen and naturally takes up part of the display.

iPhone X notch

Because of this change, the battery percentages are not displayed in the top panel, which we have had to put up with since the arrival of the iPhone X. The only exception is the iPhone SE models, but they rely on the body of the older iPhone 8, so we also find the home button. Although in principle this is a small thing, we ourselves have to admit that this deficiency is quite annoying. We have to be satisfied with the graphical representation of the battery, which, admit it yourself, simply cannot replace percentages. If we wanted to look at the real value, then we cannot do without opening the control center. Will we ever get back to normal? Apple growers are having extensive debates about this. Although the iPhone 13 series saw a narrowing of the cutout, the phones still do not display the percentage value of the battery. Hopes are only for the iPhone 14. Although it will not be presented until September 2022, it is often mentioned that instead of a cutout, it should bet on a wider hole, which you may know from competing phones with Android OS.

Volume manager

Apple also faces quite frequent criticism for the system for adjusting the volume in iOS. Normally, we can switch the volume through the side button. In such a case, however, we set it in the case of media - that is, how we will play music, applications and the like. However, if we wanted to set, for example, the volume for the ringtone, there is no simple option offered to us. In short, we need to go to the settings. In this respect, the Cupertino giant could be inspired by the competition, as it is no secret that the Android system is significantly better in this respect.

It is therefore not surprising that apple growers call for change from time to time and would welcome a more comprehensive system. A volume manager could be offered as a solution, with the help of which we would set not only the volume of media and ringtones, but also, for example, notifications, messages, alarm clocks/timers and others. For now, however, such a change is not in sight and it is a question whether we will ever see something like this.

Lightning connector

For a long time there has been talk about whether Apple should switch from its own Lightning connector to the more widespread USB-C for the iPhone. In this regard, apple fans have of course divided into two camps - those who do not want to give up Lightning, and those who, on the contrary, would like to welcome the change. That is why not everyone may agree with this point. Despite this, we can say that a considerable group of apple users would appreciate it if Apple came up with this change a long time ago. However, the Cupertino giant is sticking to its own solution tooth and nail and does not intend to change it. Leaving aside the current decisions of the European Union, it is only a question of what the situation with the connector would be in the future.

As we mentioned above, the USB-C connector is currently much more widespread. This port can be found practically everywhere, as in addition to power, it can also take care of transferring files or connecting various accessories. Switching to it could make our lives more pleasant. For example, Apple users who rely not only on the iPhone but also on the Mac would be fine with a single cable to charge both devices, which is understandably not possible at the moment.

Crab

Apple operating systems have their own voice assistant Siri, which allows you to partially control the phone with your voice. For example, we can turn on the lamp, control the entire smart home, create a reminder or event in the calendar, set an alarm, write messages, dial a number and many others. Practically speaking, we could sum it up by saying that Siri can make our daily lives easier to a certain extent. Despite this, however, it faces completely justified criticism. Compared to the competition, the Apple voice assistant is a bit behind, it seems more "lifeless" and lacks some options.

In addition, Siri has one more major shortcoming. She does not speak Czech, which is why the local apple growers have to be satisfied with English, and all communication with the voice assistant must be done in English. Of course, this may not be such a major problem. But if we wanted to play a Czech song from Apple Music/Spotify via Siri, it will most likely not understand us. The same when writing the mentioned reminder - any Czech name will be garbled somehow. The same is true for other activities. For example, do you want to call a friend? Then you also run the risk of Siri accidentally dialing someone completely different.

iCloud

iCloud is also an inseparable part of not only iOS, but practically all Apple operating systems. This is a cloud service with a clear task - to synchronize all data across all Apple products of a specific user. Thanks to this, you can access, for example, your documents both from an iPhone, as well as a Mac or iPad, or back up your phone directly. In practice, iCloud works quite simply and plays an absolutely essential role for proper functioning. Although its use is not mandatory, the majority of users still rely on it. Even so, we would find a number of shortcomings.

icloud storage

The biggest one, by far, is that it is not a data backup service, but a simple synchronization. Because of this, iCloud cannot be compared with competing products such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, which focus directly on backups and therefore also deal with the versioning of individual files. Conversely, when you delete an item in iCloud, it is deleted across all your devices. That is why some apple users do not have such confidence in the apple solution and prefer to rely on the competition in terms of backup.
