Have you recently switched from a Windows PC to a Mac with macOS? Then you might be wondering how to really enjoy the Apple desktop operating system to the fullest. Whether it's taking screenshots, working with active corners, or just setting up Siri, there are quite a few tricks that will make working with your Mac even more enjoyable.

Siri settings

Among other things, operating systems from Apple are characterized by the possibility of using the voice virtual assistant Siri. How to set up and activate Siri on Mac? First, in the upper left corner of your computer screen, click  menu -> System Preferences. Click on Siri, and in the end it's just a matter of customizing all the details, such as the voice or activating the "Hey Siri" function.

Active corners

Your Mac also offers a feature called Active Corners. This is a really useful tool that is worth using. Active Corners on Mac lets you add actions to each of the four corners of your Mac screen. You can hover your cursor over one of these corners to start writing a quick note, put your computer to sleep, or activate a screen saver. To use Active Corners on a Mac, click the  menu -> System Preferences in the top left corner of the screen. Click Mission Control and click Active Corners in the lower left corner of the window. Now it is enough to select the desired action in the drop-down menu for each of the corners.

How to take a screenshot on a Mac

Mac offers a different way of taking screenshots than Windows operating system. But you don't have to worry about anything - these are easy-to-remember keyboard shortcuts that will allow you to take a screenshot on your Mac in exactly the way that suits you best at that moment. To take a screenshot of the entire screen, press Command + Shift + 3. You'll know you've taken a screenshot when your Mac makes a sound.
If you want to take a screenshot of a specific part, you can press Command + Shift + 4 and then drag the cursor to select the desired area to record. Once you release your finger, you will take a screenshot. If you want to record the screen or part of it, use Command + Shift + 5. A menu will appear on the screen and at the bottom you can choose what you want to do.

Customize the menu bar

At the top of your Mac screen is a menu bar - the so-called menu bar. On it you will find, for example, date and time data, battery icons, internet connection and more. You can fully customize the appearance and content of the menu bar. Just click on the  menu -> System Preferences -> Dock and Menu Bar in the upper left corner of your Mac screen. Here you can set which items will be displayed in the menu bar, or customize its display.

Unlocking Apple Watch

If you bought an Apple Watch in addition to your new Mac, you can also use your Apple Watch to unlock your computer. In the upper left corner of the screen, click  menu -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy. At the top of the window, switch to the General tab. Here, all you have to do is activate the item Unlock Mac and apps with Apple Watch, and confirm by entering the password for your Mac.
