The native Photos application is by far the most popular among iPhone, iPad and Mac users. And no wonder, it offers countless great and advanced features in a simple interface. We will show some of them in this article.

The quality of the recorded videos

Smartphone manufacturers are constantly working on the quality of cameras, and this applies doubly to Apple. But if you want to change the quality of the recorded video, move to Settings, click on Camera and then on Video recording. In this section, you can choose from several options depending on the quality of the camera you have in your device. You can also change the quality of the slow motion recording by selecting it in the camera settings Slow motion recording and again simply set the quality here.

Easy editing of photos and videos

Third-party applications are suitable for more advanced media editing, but Apple Photos is sufficient for absolutely basic ones. In the Photos app, view the photo or video you want to work with, then select an option Edit. You can crop the photo, add filters and several other functions, for videos you have the option of editing, adding filters and of course quite a lot of other options.

Storage optimization

Many users take care of their photos and videos and delete unnecessary ones on a regular basis, but sometimes a huge number of photos can accumulate on the phone and take up a lot of storage. If you want to save photos and videos in a lower resolution on your smartphone and send the original ones to iCloud, open Settings, select an option Fotky and select iCloud Photos at the top Optimize storage. But be careful that you have enough space on iCloud, the basic 5 GB will most likely not be enough for you.

Creating shared albums

If you have family sharing turned on, a shared Family album will be created automatically. However, if you want to share some albums with someone else, the procedure is not complicated. In the Photos app, tap the tab Alba, in the upper left corner on the + icon and select from the menu that appears New shared album. Name it and click the button Next, where you add the contact or email address of the person you want to share the album with. Finally, confirm the process with the button Create.

Transferring photos to your computer

Some computers may have trouble supporting the high-efficiency HEIC format for iPhone photos. Although this format is more economical, it is still not supported by all devices. To automatically copy photos in a compatible format, open Settings, click on Fotky and on the Transfer to Mac or PC icon, select Automatically. From now on, there should be no problem with the photo format.
