OneNote is one of the most advanced note-taking tools for iPad, and its huge advantage is the fact that Microsoft offers it for free, that is, as long as you have 5 GB of space in your OneDrive account. We already have an article in our magazine about the application from the Redmont company issued however, due to the large number of features and the possibility to use this great notebook outside of school, I think you will find the other tips useful as well.

Sharing and collaboration

In the 21st century, when modern technology forces us to react as flexibly as possible and to have an overview of everything, the possibility of real-time collaboration cannot be thrown away. This is relatively well developed in OneNote, as well as in the Office 365 package. To invite users, move to the note, and then click on the top right Share. All you have to do here is enter name or email address the user you want to share the note with, and message. Don't forget to set the above authorization to the notes. You can then send the link by tapping on copy link, or by tapping on Another application. If you choose Send a copy of the page, so it is created PDF document, which you can share.

Partition security

It goes without saying that you don't want an unauthorized person to have access to certain data. It is not difficult to password-protect individual sections in OneNote. Open the tab Display and then select Password protection. Then choose whether you want to encrypt only the current partition or all protected partitions. Password at the end enter verify and tap to save All done. However, please note that if you forget it, OneNote cannot recover the password - so choose a password that you won't forget.

Search for resources directly in the application

If you are creating a report in which you need to have listed sources and search for personalities, events or places, then OneNote will be a good helper for you. Place the cursor where you want to list the resource, in the top ribbon go to Insertion and from the menu click on Researcher. Then, in the search box, type a term that OneNote will find using the Bing search engine. Of course, you must be connected to the Internet for functionality.

Notification settings for individual notebooks

If you collaborate with other users, notifications will certainly come in handy in some cases, but on the other hand, it may happen that they are rather distracting for some notebooks. To set notifications for individual blocks, click on the section above Notification and then tap on gear icon. In addition to indicating whether notifications on the lock screen will be displayed in banners and whether you will hear sounds, you can here (de)activate notifications for all notebooks you have stored on OneDrive. If you do not have a certain notepad uploaded to the Microsoft storage, the notifications will not work.

Accessibility testing

To make the text in OneNote accessible even to visually impaired users who have a screen reader turned on, you must, for example, insert short captions for embedded images. If you're working with someone who has a visual impairment, OneNote can evaluate whether the notebook is legible for them. In the ribbon, go to Display and click the icon on the right Check accessibility. Only the open page will be checked automatically, if you want to check the entire notebook, select from the options under the check Notepad.
