Calendar delegation

Apple's Native Calendar offers a handy feature where you can delegate the management of one of your calendars to a selected user. For example, if you're on vacation, you can assign another user to take care of notes, add events to your calendar, and more. To delegate a calendar, first launch the Calendar app and click Calendars at the top of its window. In the panel on the left side of the window, select the calendar you want to share and click the portrait icon to the right of its name. Finally, just enter the desired contact in the field called Share with…. You can set permissions by clicking the arrow to the right of the contact.

Sharing a calendar to read

Do you want your loved ones to have an overview of your planned events, but at the same time want to prevent them from accidentally editing any of them? You can make calendar sharing read-only. Again, in the panel on the left side of the window, select the desired calendar and click on the portrait icon to the right of its name. Check Public Calendar. To share a calendar, click the share icon to the right of its URL.

Remote access to the Calendar

If you need to check, add or edit an event on your Calendar, but you don't have access to it from any of your devices, don't worry - any device with a web browser and an internet connection will do. Go to www.icloud.com. Log in with your Apple ID, select Calendar from the list of application icons, and you can start working as you are used to.

Do you have an away meeting scheduled in your Calendar and want to be notified when you have to leave? Create an event and in the panel on the right side of the window, click on the place where you want to enter a reminder, repeat or travel time. In the drop-down menu, then enter the estimated travel time and the time you would like to be notified that you have to leave.
