Deactivation of automatic connection

Every time you connect to a new Wi-Fi network, your Mac automatically saves the information to connect directly to that network without having to enter a password manually. However, if you want your Mac to stop automatically connecting to Wi-Fi, in the upper-left corner of your Mac's screen, click  menu -> System settings. In the left panel, choose Wi-Fi, and then in the main window, select the network for which you want to adjust the connection settings. Click Details to disable the item Automatically connect to this network.

Copying Wi-Fi password

Another interesting feature enabled by Wi-Fi settings in macOS Ventura is the ability to copy the Wi-Fi password for networks that are already connected to the device. To copy the Wi-Fi password in macOS Ventura, go to  menu -> System settings and select Wi-Fi in the left panel. In the Known networks section, go to the name of the Wi-Fi whose password you want to copy, click on the icon of three dots in a circle and choose Copy password.

Data saving

If you're using Wi-Fi on a data-limited package or via a personal hotspot, you'll find a step that allows you to use Wi-Fi on your Mac in power saving mode. Click on  menu in the upper-left corner of your Mac screen, choose System Settings and click Wi-Fi in the left panel. For the network you want to set to low data mode, click Details and then activate the item Low data mode.

Forget connection

This feature is not hot news in macOS Ventura, but it is certainly worth mentioning. If your MacBook's list of saved Wi-Fi networks gets full, you may want to remove some unused Wi-Fi networks from your system. For these purposes, click in the upper left corner of your Mac screen  menu -> System settings -> Wi-Fi. At the bottom right, click on Advanced and then for the network you want to disable, click the icon of three dots in a circle. Finally, just click on Remove from list.

Ask for connection

Another important function to preserve the device and the data stored in it is the "Request to connect to networks" function. When turned on, this feature prevents your MacBook from automatically connecting to an open Wi-Fi network without first asking you to confirm your connection to that network. In the upper-left corner of your Mac screen, click  menu -> System settings -> Wi-Fi. Finally, at the bottom of the window, activate the item Ask to connect to networks.
