Apple presented the new operating systems about two months ago, at its developer conference. In particular, we saw the presentation of iOS and iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura and watchOS 9. Immediately after the presentation, the apple company launched a beta version for developers, and then for testers. The fifth beta version of iOS 16 is currently "out" with many more to come before the public release. However, some users who have installed the iOS 16 beta are complaining about system slowdown. It should be mentioned that the beta versions are simply not as debugged as the public version, so it's nothing special. Anyway, together in this article we will look at 5 tips to speed up iPhone with iOS 16 beta.

Delete application data

In order to have a fast iPhone, it is important to have enough space in its storage. If there is a lack of space, the system automatically freezes and loses performance, because there is simply nowhere to store data. In iOS, for example, you can delete application data, i.e. cache, specifically from Safari. Data is used here to load pages faster, save login information and preferences, etc. The size of the Safari cache varies depending on how many pages you visit. You do the deletion Settings → Safari, where below click on Delete site history and data and confirm the action. The cache can also be deleted in some other browsers in the preferences.

Deactivation of animations and effects

When you think about using iOS or any other system, you will probably realize that you are often looking at various animations and effects. It is thanks to them that the system looks so good. But the truth is that to render these animations and effects, the hardware must provide some power, which can be a problem on older iPhones, where it is not available. Fortunately, you can turn off animations and effects in iOS. You just need to go to Settings → Accessibility → Motion, where activate Limit movement. At the same time ideally turn on i Prefer blending.

Limit background updates

Some applications can update their content in the background, for example social networks or weather. It is thanks to background updates that you are always sure that every time you move to these applications, you will see the latest available content, i.e. posts from other users or the weather forecast. However, background updates of course consume power that can be used in other ways. If you don't mind waiting a few seconds to display the latest data after moving to the application, you can relieve the iPhone's hardware by turning off this function. This can be achieved in Settings → General → Background Updates, where do either complete shutdown, or partly for individual applications in the list below.

Turn off transparency

In addition to the fact that you can notice animations and effects when using iOS, transparency is sometimes rendered here - for example, in the control or notification center, but also in other parts of the systems. Although it may not seem like a good thing at first, even such transparency can really mess up older iPhones. In fact, it is necessary to depict two surfaces, with the fact that one must also be blurred. However, the transparency effect can also be activated and a classic color can be displayed instead. You do so in Settings → Accessibility → Display and text size, where turn on function Reducing transparency.

Downloading updates

iOS and app updates can also download in the background of the iPhone without the user's knowledge. Although installing updates is important for security, it is worth mentioning that this process consumes some power, so it is worth disabling it on older devices. To turn off background app update downloads, go to Settings → App Store, where in the category Turn off automatic downloads function Update applications. To disable background iOS update downloads, just go to Settings → General → Software Update → Automatic Update.
