For communication, you can use countless different applications on the iPhone, especially those from third parties. Among the most popular are WhatsApp, then Messenger, Telegram or even Signal. However, we must not forget the native solution in the form of Messages and the iMessage apple service, which is part of this mentioned application. iMessage is hugely popular among Apple fans – and no wonder, thanks to its ease of use and great features. iOS 15 saw some great improvements to the native Messages app, and we're going to show you 5 of them in this article.

Saving photos

In addition to text, you can also easily send messages via iMessage. The advantage is that the images and photos you send via iMessage will not lose their quality - this is the case with WhatsApp and most other applications, for example. In the event that someone sent you a photo that you would like to save, until now you had to open it and save it, or hold your finger on it and press the save option. But that is already a thing of the past, as a new function was added in iOS 15 to make it even easier to save a photo or image. As soon as it comes to you, it is enough tap the download icon next to it (down arrow). This will save the content to Photos.

Memoji improvements

Undoubtedly, Memoji are an integral part of Messages and iMessage services. We saw them for the first time almost five years ago, with the arrival of the revolutionary iPhone X. In that time, Memoji have really come a long way and we have seen great improvements. Within Memoji, you can create your own "character" to which you can transfer all your emotions in real time. You can then share these characters together with emotions. In iOS 15, Memoji have received interesting improvements - specifically, you can finally use them dress up and choose the color of the clothes, you can choose from several at the same time new headgear and glasses, you can also deploy Memoji hearing aid and other enabling devices.

Shared with you

One of the big features that has become part of quite a few native apps is Shared with you. Thanks to this function, the device can work with the content sent to you through Messages and then display it in the relevant applications. For example, if someone sends you via Messages link, so it will be displayed in safari, if someone sends you photo, so it will appear in photos, and if you receive a link to one podcast, so you can find it in the application Podcasts. This allows you to easily access all the content that has been shared with you without having to search for it in the conversation. However, you can still view any content shared with you by tapping on the person's name at the top of the conversation, then scrolling down.

Choose a SIM card

If you wanted to use Dual SIM on your iPhone, you had to wait an unhealthily long time - specifically until the introduction of the iPhone XS (XR), which came with support for this function. Even in this, Apple has slightly differed, because instead of two physical SIM cards, we can use one physical and the other eSIM. If you are currently using two SIM cards on an Apple iPhone, you may be right when I say that the options for setting this function are limited. For example, you can't set a different ringtone for each SIM, you can't have a SIM selection pop-up window appear before each call, etc. So it was still not possible to simply choose the SIM from which to send messages. Fortunately, however, iOS 15 has added a feature that allows you to choose a SIM for texting. You can do so by creating a new message, Alternatively, just tap on the conversation at the top the name of the person concerned, and then on the next screen Select the SIM card.

Collection of photos

As mentioned on one of the previous pages, you can use iMessage to share photos, videos and other content, among other things. We have already shown a new function, thanks to which we are able to quickly and easily download received images and photos. However, if someone sent you a large volume of photos in the past, they were displayed one by one. If someone sent you, say, twenty photos, all of them would be displayed under one another in Messages, which was certainly not ideal. In iOS 15, fortunately, Apple in Messages came with photo collections, which merges all photos and images sent at once and you can easily view them.
