Of course, there are many applications that are used to communicate and send media and other files between users. WhatsApp is very popular with many people. If you are one of the users of this popular communication platform, you will certainly appreciate our offer of tips and tricks today, which will make working with WhatsApp on your iPhone even more convenient, better and more efficient.

Add a conversation to the desktop

Would you like to have a chat with a specific person located on the desktop of your iPhone for easier and faster access? The path to this solution leads through the native Shortcuts application, in which you tap on the "+" in the upper right corner. Select Add action, select WhatsApp in the list of apps, and tap Send message via WhatsApp. Enter the recipient, then tap the settings icon in the top right. Choose Add to Desktop and then customize the shortcut details such as name and icon. After that, just click on Add in the top right.

Sending a long video

Unfortunately, WhatsApp sets a maximum size for the video you send as an attachment from native Photos. In case you would like to bypass this measure, there is a relatively easy and quick way. First, select the video you want to send from your iPhone's photo gallery. For a video, click the share icon and choose Save to Files. Then launch WhatsApp and in the selected conversation, tap the "+" at the bottom of the display. Select Document in the menu and then just select the video from the native Files folder and add it to the conversation.

Cancel automatic media downloads

If you open a conversation on WhatsApp that contains any attachment - be it a photo, document or video, the attachment will be automatically saved to your iPhone's photo gallery (this does not apply to photos that have been set to view once). If you don't want this to happen, launch WhatsApp on your iPhone and choose Settings. Click on Storage and data, and under Automatically download media, select Never for each item.

Effects during photography and filming

You can send photos and videos from your iPhone's photo gallery to WhatsApp conversations, and you can edit these files right in the app. In the selected conversation, tap the "+" in the bottom left to add a photo. Then, at the top of the screen, tap the pencil icon to draw by hand, the T icon to insert text, or the emoticon to add a sticker.

Two-factor authentication

There are often conversations going on in WhatsApp that you just don't want to let out into the world. The conversations themselves are protected by end-to-end encryption, but this does not prevent someone else from trying to get into your WhatsApp account. If you want to protect your account more effectively, activate two-factor authentication. Launch WhatsApp and head to Settings. Tap on Account -> Two-Factor Verification and activate it here.
