If you currently decide to buy a new iPhone in the basic configuration, you will get a storage of only 64 GB, or 128 GB in the case of the Pro version. The second mentioned size is already enough for most users, however, if someone nowadays has 64 GB of storage or less, they may run into problems. The applications themselves can be several gigabytes, and a minute of high-quality video can be as well. Said users have no choice but to put up with it, that is, if they don't want to buy a new iPhone. In this article we're going to take a look at 5 tips and tricks to free up space on your iPhone, the other 5 tricks can be found on our sister site - just click the link below.

Automatic postponement of unused applications

Most of us have dozens of different apps installed on our iPhone. But what are we going to lie to ourselves about, we regularly use so many applications that we could count them on the fingers of two hands. However, users don't delete other apps because they don't know when they might need them again, or because they don't want to lose the various data created in the apps. In this case, the application snooze function will come in handy. It ensures that it automatically deletes the application itself after a certain period of non-use, but in addition to the created user data. For example, in the case of a game, only the game itself will be deleted, progress and other user data will not be deleted. To activate this auto snooze feature, go to Settings -> General -> Storage: iPhone, where you tap in the tips for the option Put away unused na Turn on.

Deactivation of saving HDR photos

Another option with which you can save a lot of storage space is to disable the storage of HDR photos. Apple phones can evaluate in certain situations when taking pictures that it will be better to use HDR photography. By default, however, both photos are saved, i.e. both the normal and HDR photos. In this case, the device gives you a choice to determine for yourself which photo is better. In most cases, HDR photos are really better, and besides, none of us wants to manually delete photos. Fortunately, there is an option with which you can disable the saving of classic photos when taking an HDR photo. This way, two duplicate photos will not be stored and you will not have to delete them. So if you always want to keep only HDR photos, go to Settings -> Camera, where below activate the function Leave normal.

Reducing the quality of the video recording

As I mentioned in the introduction, videos on the latest iPhones can take up several hundred megabytes, or units of gigabytes, for a single minute of recording in the highest available quality. Of course, users with small storage simply cannot afford this, which makes sense. In this case, it is therefore necessary for such individuals to change the quality of the recorded video, i.e. reduce it. If you want to change the video recording quality settings, go to Settings -> Camera, where you click the box video recording, and then too Slow motion. Here, you just need to set one quality, whichever you deem appropriate. Below you can read about how much space one minute of recording in a certain quality takes up, which is definitely handy.

Control of large attachments in Messages

Today's mobile phones are no longer just for making calls. In addition, you can create perfect photos with them, play games, surf the Internet, or you can communicate with friends or family. If you want to communicate with someone via iPhone, you can use several chat applications. You can choose, for example, Messenger, Viber, or even WhatsApp. However, we must not forget the native Messages application, in which, in addition to classic SMS messages, Apple iMessages can also be sent, free of charge across users with Apple devices. In addition to messages, you can also send attachments in the form of images, videos and files. The truth is, of course, this data is stored on your iPhone's storage and can take up a lot of space after a while. If you want to check your saved attachments from the Messages app on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Storage: iPhone, where you tap the option Check for large attachments. Here you can check all large attachments and delete them if necessary.

Delete read books

If you're one of those readers who's traded a book for a cell phone, and that's in a good way, then smarten up. You can use several different applications to read electronic books, including the native one called Books. Of course, e-books also take up a certain amount of storage space. You will probably agree with me that it is pointless to store such titles in Books that you have already read a long time ago. So if you use Books and want to delete some titles, it's nothing complicated. First, into the application Knihy move, and then click the box Library. Then tap on the option at the top right Adjust a select books which you want remove. Finally, at the bottom right, tap on trash icon, and then press the button Delete everywhere. In this way, read books can be easily deleted.
