The native Mail app on the Mac itself is fairly easy to use, but sometimes you can use a few tips to customize it even more to make it work better for you. In today's article, you will learn, for example, how to create dynamic mailboxes, lists of VIP contacts, or how to change colors and fonts.

Dynamic clipboards

You can set up so-called dynamic mailboxes for incoming messages in the native Mail app on your Mac. Basically, it is about setting conditions due to which incoming messages will remain in their original mailboxes, but at the same time they will also appear in their own dynamic mailboxes. To set up dynamic mailboxes first on toolbar at the top of the screen of your Mac click on Mailbox -> New dynamic mailbox. In the content rules, choose "From Everyone", then select in the next line "The message was not answered", you can add additional conditions by clicking the button "+".

VIP groups

If you have contacts in your list whose messages are simply more important than others, you can reserve them their own priority VIP category. Any messages that come from these VIP contacts will be prioritized in native Mail on your Mac. To add a contact to the VIP list, first select a message from the person concerned and then click on arrow next to the sender's name. In drop down menu, which will be displayed to you, then just click on Add to VIP.

VIP notifications

If you have set up a list of VIP contacts according to the above paragraph and would also like to assign your own notifications to them, first click on the toolbar in the top of your screen Mac on Preferences -> Rules. Choose Add a rule, name the new rule, and then in category "if" in the drop-down menu "anything/everything" choose "anything". In the category "Condition" choose "Sender is a VIP", then click on in the next category "Play Audio" and select the appropriate sound.

Create groups

If you communicate with groups of colleagues or partners through native Mail on your Mac, you can create special groups for your email correspondence. This time we will work with an application Contact. After hers launch click on toolbar at the top of the screen your Mac to File -> New Group. After that, all you need is a group name and add the desired contacts to it.

Change font and colors

You can also easily change fonts and colors in native Mail on your Mac. On toolbar at the top of the screen click on Mail -> Preferences, and click the tab in the preferences window Fonts and colors. After that, it's enough select fonts for individual sections of Mail. IN in the lower left part of the window preferences, you can easily choose the colors of the quoted text.
