Dynamic folders

Native Notes in macOS Ventura can automatically organize notes into smart folders. If you want to use this feature, launch Notes and create a new folder by clicking on New Folder in the lower left corner. Check the item Convert to dynamic folder and gradually set the required parameters of the dynamic folder in the drop-down menu.

Notes security

In newer versions of the macOS operating system, you also have much better options when it comes to securing your notes. First, launch Notes and click on the bar at the top of your Mac screen Notes -> Settings. In the Locked Notes section, activate the item Use Touch ID. Select the desired note and click on the drop-down menu with the lock icon in the right part of the top bar. Select lock and confirm with Touch ID.

If you want to share a note with someone—for example, to collaborate—you can do so with a simple link. On your Mac, open the note you want to share. In the right part of the top bar, click on the sharing icon and choose from the menu that appears Invite via link. Don't forget to choose from the drop-down menu at the top of this menu whether it will be a collaboration or whether you want to send a copy of the note to the person in question.

Cancel sorting by date

Pinned notes aside, notes in the respective native app are by default sorted chronologically by date. To cancel this sorting, launch Notes and click on the bar at the top of the screen Notes -> Settings. Then deactivate the item in the main settings window Group notes by date.

A quick note

Among other things, newer versions of the macOS operating system also offer the ability to create a sticky note. You can start creating this after pointing to one of the corners of the Mac screen with the mouse cursor. If you want to check if you have this feature activated, or to activate it, click in the upper left corner of the screen Apple menu -> System Settings -> Desktop and Dock. Point all the way down, click Active Corners, select the desired corner, and choose from the drop-down menu A quick note.
