Links in notes

In iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, the Notes app also supports the creation of hyperlinks, among other things. The procedure is really very simple - just select the text to which you want to add a link and click on the marked passage. In the menu that appears, click Add Link and enter either the desired URL or the name of the note you want to link to.

Quick browsing of PDF attachments

If you have multiple PDF attachments in one of your notes as an attachment, you can browse them much faster and more efficiently in iOS 17 and later. PDF files are now embedded full-width in Notes, allowing you to browse the entire PDF file without opening it in Quick View first. You can also open thumbnails and tap to navigate between pages.

Adding stickers

If you liked stickers with the arrival of the iOS 17 operating system, you will certainly welcome the possibility of adding static and moving stickers to notes. You can add both emoji stickers and stickers you have created from photos. In the selected note, tap where you want to add the sticker. Tap the annotation icon above the keyboard, tap + in the annotation tools menu, and choose Add Sticker. In native Notes, you can also add stickers to photos and PDFs in attachments in this way.

Annotation of PDF attachments and photos

Have you inserted a PDF file or photo into a note and would like to add a drawing or other annotation element? No problem. With the arrival of iOS 17, you even got a little more tools available for these purposes. Click on the annotation icon at the bottom of the screen and then you can start editing.

Real-time tracking of collaborative edits

With the arrival of the operating system iOS 17 (i.e. iPadOS 17), collaboration on real-time notes has improved even more. You and other users of a shared note can edit it at the same time, and your edits are visible to everyone in real time. For example, someone can write a checklist while you highlight a PDF and another person adds photos, and everyone involved can watch the edits in real time on their device displays.
