The native Keynote application is primarily used on the Mac to create various presentations of all kinds. Its use is really very easy, but at the same time, the application offers the possibility of using a number of tricks that will make your work easier and more pleasant. In today's article, we will show five of them.

Animation of objects

Among other things, native Keynote on Mac also gives you the option of advanced management and editing of panel objects so that they appear exactly when you need them. Select the object you want to set the effect on, then click Animations in the upper-right corner of the Keynote window. In the panel that appears on the right side of the application window, choose Add Effect and select the desired animation. After that, all you have to do is adjust the individual parameters of the given effect.

Change the font in the entire presentation

Have you just finished a large Keynote presentation and realized you'd like to change the font on individual panels? You don't need to make changes manually. For example, if you changed the font size for one panel, point to the panel on the far right side of the application window, select the Text tab at the top of the panel, and then click Update.

Embed a YouTube video

Have you uploaded a video to your YouTube channel that you would also like to include in your presentation? Then you must have noticed that Keynote on Mac does not offer the option to embed video via URL or code. But that doesn't mean you should completely give up on this option. You can simply download the video to your computer, create a new blank panel in Keynote, and then click Add -> Select on the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen. Then just select the desired video. You can find instructions on how to download from YouTube on our sister site.

iPhone as a remote control

You can also use your iPhone to conveniently control your presentation remotely. How to do it? On the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen, click Keynote -> Preferences. At the top of the preferences window, click the Drivers tab and check Enable. Make sure both your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and launch the native Keynote app on your iPhone. Click on the driver icon in the upper right corner of your iPhone's screen, and your iPhone's name should suddenly appear in the list of drivers on your Mac.

Toolbar customization

Like other native macOS applications, Keynote offers a useful toolbar that appears at the top of the application window. If you want to customize the elements on this panel, click View -> Customize Toolbar on the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen. You can easily and quickly edit individual elements by dragging them to the bars or away from the bar.
