Select page when starting Chrome

When you launch Google Chrome, a clean home page opens with a simple Google search bar and a collection of the most visited pages. You can change it if you want. You can even choose to run a single tab or multiple tabs. To customize Chrome after launch, click on icon of three dots in the upper right corner Chrome window and select in the menu Settings. Then in the upper left click on three lines icon, select in the menu At startup and set everything you need.

Pinning cards

Many of us spend hours on Google Chrome typing, searching, and researching. In this activity, we often open the same cards over and over on a daily basis - so it's handy to have them pinned for instant, easy access. To pin a webpage in Chrome on Mac, simply right-click on the tab and select the option Pin it.

Creating applications

Many of our favorite websites are web applications. And if you want to keep them separate from your normal browsing and have quick access to them with a shortcut, you can convert them to Google Chrome apps. To create a web app from a selected website in Chrome, launch the page, click on three dots in the upper right corner and select Impose and share -> Create shortcut. An application is created, whose shortcut you can then place on the desktop or in the Dock.

Playback control

One of the newest features of Google Chrome is the ability to manage audio and video playback from anywhere. Previously, you had to open the card where the music/video was playing and control playback from there. A playlist icon will now appear next to your profile icon when playing media in Chrome. Click on it to display a mini player. With this player, you can play/pause, skip to the previous and next video/song, and even fast-forward or rewind songs on supported websites.

Task Manager

Just like a computer, Google Chrome is equipped with an integrated task manager. You can use it to limit the use of Chrome browser resources. We all know that Google Chrome is resource intensive - but sometimes it's not the browser's fault. If Chrome is consuming too many resources, be sure to open Task Manager to check for a potential culprit. Click on icon of three dots in the upper right corner, choose , choose Other tools and click on Task Manager. If you notice a process that is taking up too much of your Mac's system resources, click to select it, then click on End the process.
