AirTag, i.e. a localization pendant from Apple, has divided apple lovers into two camps. In the first camp there are individuals who do not understand AirTag and who see no point in it. The second group is full of users who cannot praise AirTag because it simplified their daily functioning. If you own an AirTag and would like to know more about its capabilities, or if you have recently become an owner, you will enjoy this article in which we show you 5 tips and tricks for Apple location tags.

Battery status

When the AirTag was not yet officially launched, there was speculation that we could recharge it, just like, for example, the iPhone. But the opposite turned out to be true, and Apple decided to use the classic CR2032 button cell battery. The good news is that this battery will last a relatively long time, and if you need to replace it, you can buy it anywhere for a few crowns. If you would like to find out how the AirTag's battery charge is, go to the Find app, click Items at the bottom, and then a specific item. Here, under the name of the subject, you will find a battery icon indicating the state of charge.

Name change

As soon as you activate the AirTag for the first time and bring it closer to the iPhone, you will immediately see an interface where you can set it up. Specifically, you can choose which subject it is, or you can name it yourself and choose an icon. If you decide to place the AirTag on another object, or if you simply want to rename it, you can. Just go to the Find app, tap on Items at the bottom, then click on a specific item to rename. Then just scroll down and tap on rename item at the very bottom.

Notify about forgetting

Are you one of those individuals who, in addition to losing things, are also forgetful? If so, I have great news for you. For each object, you can set it to receive a notification on your iPhone or Apple Watch every time you move away from it. Thanks to this, you will realize that you do not have an AirTag item with you and you can return in time to collect it. If you would like to activate this function, go to the Find application and click on the Subjects section below. Then select and click on a specific subject and move to Notify about forgetting. Here, it is enough to activate the function using the switch, and you can also set exceptions where you will not be shown the notification of forgetting.

Loss of AirTag

If you lose an AirTag object and want to maximize the possibility of finding it, it is necessary to activate the lost mode on it. As soon as you activate the lost mode, the AirTag starts sending a signal that can be picked up by other Apple devices and transmit its location. You will be notified immediately when the location of the AirTag is detected. In addition, when the phone is brought close to the AirTag, it will be possible to display a message with information and your contact via NFC. To activate lost mode, go to Find, click the Items section at the bottom, and then select a specific item with an AirTag. Then all you have to do is tap Turn On in the Lost category. You then enter the phone number or e-mail that appears in the wizard, and you're done.

Where to place the AirTag

Most of us have an AirTag placed on completely common things that we lose most often - for example, house keys, car keys, wallet, backpack, laptop bag and more. But you can actually attach the AirTag to a really cool thing, and there are no limits to your imagination. The AirTag can be placed, for example, in a car, possibly using a special holder for a bicycle, on a pet, on an Apple TV remote, etc. If you would like to be inspired about the place to place the AirTag, just open the article that I have attached below.
