Changing how notifications are displayed

As soon as you run iOS 16 for the first time, you must have noticed that there has been a change in the display of notifications on the lock screen. While in older versions of iOS, notifications were displayed in a list from top to bottom, in the new iOS 16 they are displayed in a pile, i.e. in a set, and from bottom to top. Many users didn't like this at all, and in fact, it's not surprising when they were used to the original display method for several years. Fortunately, users can change how they are displayed, just go to Settings → Notifications. If you want to use the native view from older iOS versions, tap List.

Lock notes

Being able to simply lock individual notes in the native Notes app is nothing new. But you probably know that until now you had to create a special password that you had to remember to lock your notes. In case you forgot it, there was no other option but to perform a reset and delete the locked notes. The good news, however, is that in the new iOS 16, users can now set the lock of notes with a classic code lock. Application Notes will prompt you for this option upon first launch in iOS 16, or you can change it retroactively in Settings → Notes → Password. Of course, you can still use Touch ID or Face ID for authorization.

View Wi-Fi passwords

It is quite possible that you have already found yourself in a situation where, for example, you wanted to share a connection to a Wi-Fi network with a friend, but you do not know the password. Part of iOS is a special interface that is supposed to be displayed for simple Wi-Fi connection sharing, but the truth is that in most cases it doesn't work. However, in the new iOS 16, all these troubles are over, because on the iPhone, just like on the Mac, we can finally view all saved passwords for Wi-Fi networks. You just need to go to Settings → Wi-Fi, where either tap on icon ⓘ u current Wi-Fi and display the password, or press at the top right edit, making it appear list of all known Wi-Fi networks, for which you can view the password.

Cropping the object from the foreground of the photo

From time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you need to cut out an object in the foreground from a photo or image, i.e. remove the background. To do this, you need a graphics program, such as Photoshop, in which you have to manually mark the object in the foreground before you can cut it out - in short, a relatively tedious process. However, if you have an iPhone XS and later, you can use a new feature in iOS 16 that can cut out the foreground object for you. It's enough that you found and opened a photo or image in Photos, and then held a finger on the object in the foreground. Subsequently, it will be marked with the fact that you can then eat it to copy or straight away share or save.

Unsend email

Are you using the native Mail app? If you answered yes, then I have good news for you - in the new iOS 16, we have seen several great innovations that we have been waiting for for a really long time. One of the main ones is the option to cancel sending an email. This is useful, for example, if you realize after sending that you didn't attach an attachment, didn't add someone to the copy, or made a mistake in the text. To use this feature, just tap at the bottom of the screen after sending an email Cancel send. By default you have 10 seconds to do this, but you can change this time by v Settings → Mail → Time to cancel sending.
